The StudentWorks Show Productions
are an opportunity for UG/Drama
students to participate in their own
student generated productions.

Creative team, cast, and staff shall be
CURRENT NYU -TISCH DEPARTMENT OF DRAMA STUDENTS during the semester of the production.

This is the proposal packet for the Fall 2015 StudentWorks Show season.

The following points must be met before any proposal will be approved.

All the information listed in the application, including rough ground plan and rights agreement letter, must be turned in to the Production Office (721 B’way, room #366)no later than Monday, May 4, 2015 at 5:00pm. Emailed popoasls will be accepted.LATE PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

All applicants must use the forms provided. You may not make your own version of this application and turn it in.

1 (One) COPY of BOTH your proposal and your script MUST be turned in. Digital is acceptable.

 INTERVIEWS between the Program Board and the Production Teams will occur prior to the final selection of the season. You will need to present and possibly elaborate on your proposal as well as answer questions from the Program Board. This will occur by appointmentthe week of May 11th. This is the second step in the review process and all applicants must be available for an interview.

NOTE: For the Fall 2015 Semester Only:

  • The selected show may begin rehearsing September 21st.
  • Audition may happen as early as September 6, 2015.
  • Sunday, October 18th – Begin Load In
  • Monday, October25th – Performance Week
  • Saturday, October 31st – Final performance and Strike

These shows are intended to provide experience and they are not intended for non-affiliated or alumni directors, designers, and actors to showcase their work.

• Producers and Directors must be current students in the semester the production is produced.

• Producers and Directors must have completed their primary training.

• Producers and Directors may not be members of the StudentWorks Board.

• Actors and designers graduating in December may participate in Spring productions.

• Actors and designers graduating in May,may not participate in Fall productions.

Information needed for securing rights: the Shop Theater holds 49 seats, it is located in 721 Broadway, 2nd Floor, and the ticket price is asuggested donation of $5.00. You will also need to list number of performances, dates and times. (ballpark)
Musicals from the Tams-Witmark Music Library are not available to be produced in the Shop Theatre. The policies of Tams-Witmark prohibit student productions.
