Eastern Europe Project Guidelines

We will be exploring Eastern Europe by creating a PowerPoint or (Google slides) presentation that you will present to the class. You and your teammate(s) will research a country in Eastern Europe. You will use the 8 culture traits to explore your country. You must find information about each culture trait. You will have 3 in-class days to research your country and create the presentation using your research.

This project is worth 140 points!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Each team will be assigned 1 Eastern European country
  • Create at least 1 slide for each culture trait. Along with your title slide and your sources slide, you should have a minimum of 10 slides.
  • Find at least3 facts for each culture trait to go on your slide/slides.
  • You must have a total of 24 facts throughout your presentation, but you may have more facts for some traits than for others. YOU MUST NUMBER EACH FACT IN YOUR PRESENTATION! Number the facts #1-25. (NOTE: 80% Catholic, 15% Protestant, 5% Unaffiliated counts as one fact and not 3)

**The World Factbook on the CIA webpage is a good source to start with. Use this link to access the site: Also, encyclopedias and any government or education sites (ending in .gov or .edu) are usually trustworthy and reliable.

Examples of types of information for each trait:

Daily Life: food, clothing, urbanization, family life, daily schedule (ex. some cultures eat late at night or have “tea time” in the afternoon), literacy rate, etc.

Social Groups: types of ethnic groups, percentage of males/females, percentage of age groups, etc.

Economy: exports & imports, types of industries, etc.

This project is due on Monday, October 16th!!

Ten points will be deducted for each day the project is late!

***You must turn in a rubric in order to receive a grade! Projects without a rubric will receive a 0/140!!
