Aims: At the end of this lesson, Ss. are expected to:

1-Listen to a science fiction text to answer questions.

2-Read a science fiction text to answer questions.

A.V.M.:(S.B. – W. B. – B.B. – flashcards – L.C.D. – gestures and miming).

New Structure: Future tense using "might".

Language Function: Asking for opinion. (what do you think?)

New/Revised vocabulary: (future – think – moon – planets – spaceships – robots – everyone – cheaper - powerful).

T. divides the class into two groups: Omar ibn Al-khattab and Ali ibn Abi Talib (relating Ss. to their Islamic culture). Then, T. calls out a letter of English (e.g. A); the group _ previously assigned by the teacher_ has to complete the table. Then the other group takes the turn with another letter.
Homework: T. with his Ss. go through the homework.
T. revises the previously taught words. Then,

* pronunciation: T. gives the right pronunciation; and Ss. repeat (C.G.I.).
*meaning: T. shows the slides; he sometimes uses gestures where necessary.
* spelling: T. shows the flashcards of the Voc.
2- Production of new Voc. (formative evaluation).
- T. shows the slides one by one; and Ss. match each flashcard with the appropriate slide as they pronounce it.
3- Display L.C.D. (pictures of the text book)
T discusses the pictures with his Ss. (focus on each picture)
T asks: *who is this? Pointing to Mr. Green's picture. Is he Omar's
father? Where is he from?
*How many children are there? What are there names? Has
Ben/Omar ever been to Palestine/China…etc.?
*What can you see? Can you see a computer…etc.?
Listening and Read:
Listening:
T. writesa pre-listening Q. on the board and reads it.
1- Who could play all day?
T. checks understanding of the Qs.
Play the cassette. Ss. listen as pictures being displayed without the text.
T. prompts Ss. to answer.
Reading:
1- T. writes pre-reading Qs.
a- How might people travel to other plants? (car – plane – spaceship)
b- Who might do all the work in the future? ( children – teachers – robots)
Books open at page 74.
Ss. read to get the answers. T. directs them where to read.
2-T. asks the comprehension Qs. of the book one by one; and Ss. look for (read silently) the answer of each Qs.
3- Two brilliant Ss. read different parts of the text.
Play the cassette. Ss. listen with pictures displayed with the text.
If needed, T. reads the text in a hearable and clear voice; and Ss. follow in their books
T. distributes a sheet containing the following:

1- Mr. Green might travel to another country by a spaceship. ( )
2- People might travel to another country by spaceships. ( )
3- Cars are more powerful than bikes. ( )

T. with Ss. answer some examples of the homework; then Ss. finish the rest at home.

At the end of the lesson, an evaluation sheet is distributed to be completed by the Ss.
