Dear Parent(s):

The River Eves Elementary School Student Technology Fair will be held on January 7, 2016. The Technology Fair competition is open to River Eves Elementary students in grades 3–5. The top contestants in our Fair will be eligible to compete in the Fulton County Student Technology Competition to be held at Centennial High School on January 30, 2016. This is a great opportunity for your student to share his/her knowledge with peers, teachers, and others.

Student Responsibilities:

1. A student may enter only one project as an individual or as a member of a team (maximum of 2 members per team) in one of the following competition categories:

Categories: ● Digital Photo Production ● Multimedia Applications
● 3D Modeling ● Game Design ● Non-Multimedia Applications

● Animation ● Graphic Design ● Project Programming

● Audio Production ● Internet Applications ● Robotics

● Device Modification ● Mobile Apps ● Video Production

Projects are to be designed and created by students. Some adult guidance is allowed, but it must be clear that all work entered by students was done by the students.

2. All projects will be required to have a worksheet (submit with your project) for the judges to see.

3. The registration and parent consent forms must be returned by December 16, 2015.
Students must return a Parent Consent form (on the next page) with parent signature as well as a Registration form to be eligible to enter the Fair. Copies of both forms will be on the school website in case you need a clean copy. Students entering as a team must compete at the grade level of the oldest member of the team. Teams are made up of no more than two members. Each member of a team must turn in an individual Parent Consent form as well as a registration form. If a student participates as a team member, he/she may not also enter an individual project.

4. Students will present their project for judging on January 7, 2016 during the school day. All registered students must attend the Student Technology Fair, in order to have their project judged. Student projects, if applicable, are to be burned to CD or on a USB drive and ready for presentation on arrival. Computers (Windows) will be provided for student use and are equipped with the following plug-ins: Flash, QuickTime, Adobe, JAVA, and Media Player. Students may also bring their own device. The school assumes no liability/responsibility for projects/devices while at school. Judges’ decisions are final.

* If a project will be run on a school computer, it is the student’s responsibility to test their project, before January 7, on the designated computer.

Parents will be responsible for the following:

1. Review the detailed information on the FCS or school website with the student to ensure the student is aware of the rules of the Technology Fair.

2. Ensure that the submitted project was designed and created by student. Some adult guidance is allowed, but it must be clear that all work entered by student was done by the student.

3. Sign the Consent Form below to give permission for the student to participate in the Technology Fair.
