Delhi Traffic Police Head Constable apprehends dreaded criminal with automatic pistol and three snatched golden chains.

  • The apprehended criminal has 10 cases against him and is a BC of Police Station Gulabi Bagh.

Delhi Traffic Police is doing traffic management on the roads of Delhi. From time to time Traffic Police officials show exceptional bravery in apprehending desperate criminals. Head Constable Mahesh Kumar of RajouriGarden circle caught a BC of PS Gulabi Bagh who jumped a red light at RajaGarden chowk. He was accompanied by his associate, a chain snatcher BC of PS Gulabi Bagh who was also armed with a weapon..

HC Mahesh Kumar, 372/T was on ‘Chase and Challan’ motorcycle duty at RajaGarden chowk on 2.8.2011. At about 4.00 p.m., he noticed a motorcycle jumping a red light at the intersection. HC immediately intercepted the defaulting motorcycle carrying two persons. When he asked for documents of the vehicle and the rider, he was offered Rs. 200/- for allowing them to get away on the plea of being in a hurry.

HC persisted in checking their documents as he suspected them to be criminals from their behaviour. He tried to take out his whistle to alert traffic officials in the vicinity. The pillion rider caught hold of the HC and prevented him from taking out his whistle and drew out his weapon.

Undeterred at the sight of automatic weapon, HC Mahesh succeeded in apprehending the person who was driving the motorcycle. The pillion rider when he saw that HC had caught his associate also drew his weapon and fired at HC which missed the police official narrowly. In the commotion which followed, Constables Singhare Nagsen,1578/T of Traffic Police and Vivek Chahar, 2779/W of PS Kirti Nagar who were in the vicinity came to the assistance of HC but the pillion rider managed to succeed after firing at the HC

The criminal apprehended was later on identified as Sunil aged 35 yrs. r/o Andha Mughal under PS Gulabi Bagh, Delhi. Sunil has been involved in 10 cases and is a BC of Police Station. His associate has been identified as a BC of PS Gulabi Bagh and has been involved in more than 20 cases. During personal search of the apprehended criminal, an American make pistol with 03 live & 01 fired cartridges were recovered apart from 03 snatched golden chains which according to the criminal had been snatched from the areas of Police Stations Punjabi Bagh, Kirti Nagar and Ashok Vihar. West District police is making efforts to apprehend the criminal who managed to flee with the weapon on his motorcycle.

The act of HC Mahesh Kumar is of extreme bravery, courage beyond call of his duty and which was done at grave risk to his life. At the time of incident, HC Mahesh Kumar was unarmed and his taking on the armed criminals made an example of extreme gallantry and courage. His name has been recommended for ‘Out of Turn Promotion’ for his gallant act. HC Mahesh Kumar was recruited in Delhi Police in 1991 and was promoted to the rank of HC in 2006. He has been working in Traffic Police on ‘Chase & Challan’ motorcycle for the last one year.

A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by Inspr. Kuldeep Singh and consisting of SI Satyawan, HC Om Parkash, HC Mukesh Kumar, HC Joginder, Const. Yogesh Kumar and Ct. Sohan Pal under the supervision of ACP Narcotics Sh. Bir Singh and have apprehended two persons involved in trafficking of drugs and have recovered 2 KGs of fine quality Heroin. The Heroin recovered is worth Rs. 2 Crores (Approximately) in the International Market.

Information was received on 02/08/2011 by SI Satyawan that a person namely Jahid who is a resident of Loni, UP is indulging in sale and supply of Heroin in Delhi and Gaziabad, with the help of his uncle Shamshad and cousin Fariq. The information further entailed that Jahid used to procure the Heroine from one Tarachand of Bhilwada, Rajasthan through Shamshad and Fariq. Today Shamshad and Fariq would be meeting Jahid in front of Hanuman Mandir near Loni flyover, Gokul Puri, Delhi between 8:30 to 9:30 AM along with huge consignment of Heroin and the three would go to deliver the consignment to some contact in Meerut, UP. A trap was laid around Hanuman Mandir, Loni flyover, Gokul Puri, Delhi and two persons namely Shamshad and Fariq were apprehended at 9:00 AM. Two Kgs of fine quality Heroin was recovered from their possession. A case of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch.

Shamshad S/o Sh. Santra R/o Village Ghand Pura, PS Doghat, Distt. Baghpat, UP. Age: 45 Years was subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation he has revealed as under:

Shamshad is a 45 years old young man. He is a permanent resident of UP. He started consuming smack four years ago. He used to sell indigo (neel) in village Safido district Jind, Haryana. He found it too hard to meet his expenses of Heroin he started trafficking of Heroin for his nephew Jahid. In the year 2008 he was arrested for the first time in Panipat, Haryana and the case is pending trial. Soon after his release he again indulged in crime. He is illiterate. He has four daughters and one son.

Fariq S/o Late Sh. Islam R/o Village Bopura, PS Doghat, Distt. Baghpat, UP. Age: 22 Years was subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation he has revealed as under:

Fariq is a 22 years old young boy. He got primary education in his village. He has one brother and one sister. He used to sell clothes in various cities of Haryana, UP and Punjab. He used to consume smack for last four years. To meet the expenditure of his addiction he started trafficking of Heroin for his cousin namely Jahid. He used to procure the Heroin from Tarachand of Bhilwada, Rajasthan and also to the clients who demands Heroin from Jahid. In lieu of his services he has been provided Heroin for his consumption besides some money depending upon the quantity of the contraband.

Further investigation of the case is in progress.

On 10-05-11 on the basis of a complaint received from Shri D.C. Sharma, Director Training & Licensing, Civil Aviation Department regarding submission of forged documents by Sh Jigesh G.Patel, Sh Saurabh P.Lokhande and Sh Rohit Kapoor while applying for Commercial Pilot Licence, (CPL),a case vide FIR No.125/11,U/S 420 /466/ 468/471 /120B IPC was registered at P.S Crime Branch, Delhi on 11-05-11. Pilots Saurabh Lokhande and Rohit Kapoor have already been arrested and are on court bail.

On 02-08-11 during investigation of the case one Patel Jigesh Ghanshyam Bhai S/o Sh Ghanshyam Bhai R/o A-23 Pushpak Bungalow, Kharwala Compound Vatva Road,Isanpur,Ahmedabad,Gujarat (Aged 24 Years) was arrested. On interrogation he disclosed that after completing 12th from MuktajeevanHigh School,Isanpur, Ahmedabad, in 2003, he joined Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd, ,Ahmedabad ( a FlyingSchool) and completed approx 10 hours of Flying. As no Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) was available there, he left this Institute and joined Alchemist Aviation Ltd, Jamshedpur from where he completed approx 170 hours of Flying till 2007. He regularly appeared for Pilot License Examinations required for obtaining a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) but could not pass all the papers. In April 2007 session he appeared in three papers (Aviation Meteorology, General and Specific) but could clear only one paper of Specific. After that he kept on appearing in July 2007 and April 2008 regular session but could not get through the remaining two papers. In the meantime he contacted one Eknath Patil a tout of Ahmedabad for help as his flying hours was short of 20-30 hours and also as he was not able to pass the remaining papers. Eknath Patil took Rs 2 Lakhs from him and prepared a fake mark sheet of April-2007 Session wherein he was shown as pass in all the three exams. He also prepared forged documents showing his remaining flying hours completed from Alchemist Aviiation, Jamshedpur. In August 2008 the documents were submitted in DGCAand on the basis of the forged mark sheets/documents, he was issued a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) in Sept-2008

Eknath Patil has already been arrested in similar case on 04-04-2011 and is presently on Bail. Investigation of the case is still in progress.

Till date 12 Pilots, 04 touts and 03 DGCA officials have been arrested. Six Pilots are still absconding.

A RAPIST IN DISGUISE OF SAINT ARRESTED

The staff of Police Station Moti Nagar has solved a sensational case of rape by arresting Baba Wam Dev Ram @ Bam Dev @ Ram Ji Maharaj. He was also arrested in a kidnapping case in 2006 in PS Simdega, Jharkhand. He is also wanted in a gang rape case of Police Station Rani Bagh.

NAME AND PROFILE OF ACCUSED ARRESTED

Baba Wam Dev Ram @ Bam Dev @ Ram Ji Maharaj S/o Shri Rajender Prashad R/o 3181, MahindraPark, Rani Bagh, New Delhi- age 26 years. He is permanent resident of Gas Godown Road, Heala Ranchi, Jharkhand.

INCIDENT, TEAM & OPERATION

On 04.06.2011, complainant Kavita (name changed) R/o DDA Market, Shakur Pur, Delhi age, 18 yrs. has reported that she is an illiterate and came to Delhi in search of jobin May, 2006. She further added that she was repeatedly raped by one manwhile she was working in Amritsar. In April 2011, Shalami Didi brought her at A-189 Sudershan Park, Delhi. She told Shalami Didi about the incident of rape with her in Amritsar. On 03.05.2011, Shalami Didi called Baba Wam Dev Ram @ Bam Dev who lives in Rani Bagh to discuss this case. This Baba used to give counseling to the tribal girls. After hearing story, he assured that he will come later and will sort out this problem. On 06.05.11 at about 8.00 pm, he came at A-189, SudershanPark where Salami Didi was not present at home. He called the complainant in a room and raped with her and also threatened her not to disclose this to anyone. Immediately, girl made a complaint to Police where she was medically examined. On this, a case FIR No. 138/11 dated 04.06.11 u/s 376/506 IPC PS Moti Nagar was registered. Sensing the resentment among the residents of the area, a team was constituted to apprehend the accused person but he had gone to Jharkhand to escape the clutches of the law. In this regard sources were deployed. On 02.08.2011 specific information was received by Inspector Raj Kumar, SHO/Moti Nagar that the suspected person will come in front of Red Quarters Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. On this information, a raiding party under the supervision of Shri J.K. Sharma, ACPRajouriGarden comprising of Insp. Raj Kumar/SHO Moti Nagar, PSI Dharmender, HC Rajesh, HC Randhir Singh, Ct. Juned, & Ct. Dharmender, was constitutedand deployed near Red Quarters Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. At about 11.00 PM, Baba Wam Dev Ram @ Bam Dev was apprehended by police party and arrested in above mentioned case.

INTERROGATION & MODUS-OPERANDI:

During the interrogation of accused person, it was revealed that accused Baba Wam Dev Ram @ Bam Dev @ Ram Ji Maharaj is a native of Jharkhand. He studied up to 12th class in Rai Pur Jharkhand. After completing his education he started to say Bhagwat Katha and Ram Katha. He became famous in Jharkhand very soon. He became very popular in Ranchi by the name of Baba and the people of Ranchi started to believe on him. He came in contact with the people of Jharkahnd who run the Placement agency in Delhi and bring the un-employed girls from Jharkhand. He came to Delhi 6-7 years back and opened a NGO by the name & style of ‘BB Tribal Welfare Society’ in Rani Bagh. He also started to give counseling of tribal girls. He used to come for the help of the girls but exploited them. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

Staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.

SENSATIONAL MURDER CASE SOLVED

The Staff of Police Station Hari Nagar, West District has solved a sensational murder case which was committed in the area of of Meenakshi Garden, Hari Nagar, New Delhi on 29.07.2011 in which an old lady was brutally murdered in her house in the broad day light at about 1.30 PM.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON.

Amarjeet Singh S/o Mohan Singh R/o 756/3 Khalsa Mohalla Patiala (Punjab). Age-44Years. Education–Non Metric. Occupation- Trading of Cosmetic and leather goods.

RECOVERIES

1. Rs.30,000/- cash.

2. Two Gold Bangles.

3. Goods worth Rs. 20,000 which were purchased by accused from

Robbed amount.

INCIDENT

On 29.07.2011 at about 4.30 PM, an information was received at PS Hari Nagar that somebody has murdered his mother in law at WZ-74A MeenakshiGarden, Hari Nagar, New Delhi. The police party rushed to the spot and found that Pavitra W/o Sh. Kanwaljeet Singh aged 63 years was found brutally murdered in her house. Number of sharp edged injuries were noticed on her body and all the blood was spread over in the house. Her house was also ransacked and Rs. 50,000 along with gold bangles of the deceased was robbed. A case vide FIR No.339/ dated 29.07.2011 u/s 397/302 IPC PS Hari Nagar was registered and investigation was taken up.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION

As the murder of a senior citizen was committed in the broad day light in her house, residents of that area were very scared. Keeping in view the sensitivity and gravity of the crime , ACP Tilak Nagar Sh. Pankaj Singh (IPS) was specially directed to look into the matter and take up the case on priority basis and arrest accused persons at the earliest. ACP Tilak Nagar visited the spot and examined the scene of crime and after assessing all the aspects of the case, constituted a team of SHO/ Hari Nagar Sh. Virender Singh, Insp. M.L. Meena, I/C PP Hari Nagar SI Ugesh Kumar, SI Rajpal, HC Ram Chander, HC Ajay and Ct. Surender No.1328/W, Ct. Sandeep No.1338/W. ACP/ Tilak Nagar himself led the team and observed from the local enquiry that the deceased did not use to open the door to the strangers. So the entry into the house was found to be friendly. Moreover, at the place of crime, it was found that cold drink was served to the culprit and even food was being cooked in the oven, as half boiled chicken was found in it. Family members further disclosed that in the morning of the incident all of them had decided not to consume non-veg item on that day being Mahashivratri. This fact confirmed that the intruder was somebody known to the victim for whom she could even serve the chicken on the day when they themselves had decided not to touch non-veg. This gave an important clue and police team then concentrated on the known persons and persons who used to visit the house. During the course of investigation, all maids, washermen of the area, newspaper vendors were interrogated and local enquiry was also conducted. While exploring possibilities of relatives and friends involved in the crime, ACP/ Tilak Nagar Sh. Pankaj Singh observed that one of the relatives of the deceased, Amarjeet Singh, who is son of her real sister Mahender Kaur and stays at Patiala (Punjab), visited a week ago and was asking for money. She used to help him financially. This gave important lead in the case. On further investigation, it was found that he is habitual of Gambling and generally visits Delhi for purchasing Cosmetics goods from Delhi. Then police team monitored his movements. Details of his mobile phone were examined and it was found that on the date of incident i.e. on 29.07.2011 his location was in Hari Nagar at the time of offence. Police team was then sent to Patiala Punjab and he was nabbed from there. On sustained interrogation, he confessed his crime and revealed that he was demanding money from the deceased to pay off his debts. When deceased refused him to pay, he took a knife from the house itself and attacked her brutally several times and robbed Rs. 50,000 and her Two Golden Bangles. Staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.

Gang of druggist unearthed and, Stolen Bag Recovered

With the arrest of accused Sanjay @ Dhul Dhul S/o Dev Narayan R/O Vill Latuna PS Trevani Ganj Distt Supaul Bihar, staff of PS Anand Vihjar Railway Station busted a gang of druggist.

INCIDENT

On the Night intervening 02/03/08/11 a joint team comprising of SI Joy Kutty Ct Somender 481/DRP, Ct Balraj No-357/DRP (GRP) and SI R.S. Kinha & HC Shakeel Ahmed of RPF was on patrolling duty. At around 11.45 PM when the said team reached near booking office Anand Vihar Railway Station they noticed one person running with the bag. The team overpowered that person later on identified as Sanjay Kumar and inquired him about the bag. The accused could not give any satisfactory reason. In the meantime one person namely Arvind sada S/o Sh Jagdish Sada R/o Vill- Golma Distt- Darbhanga (Bihar) approached to the staff, who appeared to be in semi-conscious condition. On inquiry he told that he along with his friends namely, Raj Kumar, Deepak, Pintoo and Sanjeet came to railway Station Anand Vihar and all of them have to go to their native place in Bihar They were sitting in open space in front booking counter of Railway Station Anand Vihar as they have to board in Seemanchal Express in the morning of 03.08.11. Other passengers were also sitting there. At around 9 PM the accused and his associate also came there and sat with them. They started conversation with the complainant in their local dialect. The accused and his associate succeeded in developing friendship with them. Since the accused and his accomplice were speaking their local dialect so they trusted them. The complainant had some eatable items (CHURA) with him he offered the same to his friends as well as the accused and his associate. The accused and his associate also took the “Chura” offered by the complainant to them. After that the co-accused fetched bottles of cold drinks (MAZA) and gave it to the complainant, his friends and three other passengers, who were also sitting besides them. After consuming the cold drink the complainant as well as other persons who consumed the cold drink felt unconsciousness. The complainant was in semi conscious condition when he noticed the accused running with his bag containing his Voter I Card, cloths and other articles, he raised alarm. All the articles of the complainant have been recovered. Complainant’s friends and three other passengers namely Dalip, Lakshman and Susheel, who were unconscious, were sent to LalBahadurShashtriHospital. The complainant and his friend Raj Kumar have been discharged from the hospital after treatment and Susheel, Pintoo, Sanjeet, Lakshman, Dalip and Deepak were admitted by the doctors and they are still under treatment.
