Delay in registration of FIRs not to be tolerated; says DIG

ISLAMABAD, February 8, 2018: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Mir Vais Niaz has said that First Information Reports (FIRs) must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens.

It was directed by him while reviewing the performance of various police circles on Thursday and directions were issued to all Station House Officers to curb anti-social activities with massive action against the outlaws. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Najee bur Rehman Bugvi , SP (Investigation) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, SP (City) Ahmed Iqbal, SP (Rural) Hassam bin Iqbal, SP (Industrial Area) Liaqat Hyat Niazi, SP (Saddar) Aamir Khan Niazi and other police officials were also present on the occasion.

The DIG (Operations) directed all police officials to launch massive crackdown against drug pushers, wine sellers and those involved in immoral activities so that society can be made peaceful after getting rid from such evils.

He said that no influence can be tolerated in massive crackdown against criminals as action would speaker louder and no discrimination to be made.

He categorically asked to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens. For the fool proof security, Mr. Mir Vais Niaz directed to beef up security measures at all important locations points and enhance vigilance at check points.

The IGP directed all police officials performing duties at police stations to improve their performance and address the grievances of the masses on immediate basis following the merit to win the confidence and support of the people for the cops' department.
He said that FIRs must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens. He also directed police officials for strict monitoring of the sluggish and corrupt cops and inform high ups for their involvement in any kind of such activities.

He said that members of security and citizens’ committees should be made more active to ensure effective policing and action must be taken against anti-social elements.

He said that investigation of cases must be made on merit and no delay in this process would be tolerated. The DIG (Operations) said that Islamabad Police is determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone will be leave unturned to accomplish this responsibility.

He also ordered to take action against professional alm-seekers and take strict action against those involved in supporting this menace. DIG (Operations) said that violation of Loud Speaker Act would not be tolerated.

He asked police officials to examine the security measures in their areas through surveillance cameras installed under safe city project and suggest measures in case of any issue.

SSP (Operations) Najee -ur Rehman Bugvi directed for equal implementation of law and registration of cases purely on merit. He directed to ensure community policing and friendly police ecology in the city.
