WORK EXPERIENCE
Started service as a house officer in 1.2.1989 till 1.2.1990.
Undertook Masters in Radiology at University Malaya Medical Centre from 06.07.1992 till 05.07.1996
Graduated in July 1996. Gazetted as a radiologist in 08.01.1997. I had been working as a general radiologist from 1996 till 2002 in various hospitals within the public sector.
After completing Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology in December 2003, I work at various public hospitals as a Consultant Radiologist with Musculoskeletal Subspeciality. I was gazetted as a subspecialist in Musculoskeletal Radiology on 27th December 2005.
The medical centres in concern are namely:
-Hospital Selayang, Selangor
-Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, Perak
-Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Temerloh, Pahang.
Since March 2004 after working 3 months in Selayang Hospital since completing the fellowship training, I working in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh till May 2008 as a ConsultantRadiologist with Musculoskeletal Subspeciality. In my capacity as a Consultant Radiologist, my work ranging from musculoskeletal radiology to general radiology work .
In my capacity as Musculoskeletal Radiologist encompasses diagnostic imaging as well as interventional procedures of musculoskeletal disorders for which I was doing for all cases of musculoskeletal disorders in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun ( HRPB), Ipoh and its referred cases which is the referral centre for the state of Perak that has 3 million population. The cases in neighbouring districts of Selangor and Pahang are also referred to HRPB, Ipoh , Perak.
Started and established a new service that is Musculoskeletal Radiology in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, Perak when I was working there (2004 - May 2008).This service functioned as a referral centre for challenging musculoskeletal cases for the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia for example Penang, Kedah and Perlis. I reported all referral musculoskeletal cases from the other northern states of West Malaysia: Penang, Kedah and Perlis.
I also started and established a new service in the field of musculoskeletal radiology in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, Perak , that is management in spinal pain based on radiology discipline of image guided spinal injections. This service when I started it was the only such service in KKM run hospitals.
Within the area of Musculoskeletal my experience is in the following:
iPlain X-rays in Musculoskeletal including specialized views
ii.Ultrasound in Musculoskeletal System and ultrasound guided joint injections.
iii. Functional joint imaging under fluroscopy.
iv.CT scan of spine and joints, limbs
v.MRI in Musculoskeletal system
vi.Arthrogram of major joints and other joints such as the hip, shoulder and wrist
vii.Hydro dilatation of shoulder joints due to adhesive capsulitis
viii. Image guided spinal injections as in medial
branch blocks, foraminal nerve root blocks,
sympathetic nerve blocks and discogram as radiology displine in the management of back pain.
x. Musculoskeletal biopsy
I also function as a panel member of “ASK THE EXPERT” PORTAL My HEALTH Ministry of Health Malaysia as in my capacity of Musculoskeletal Radiologist.
Presently I am working as Head of Department and Consultant Radiologist with Musculoskeletal Subspeciality in Diagnostic Imaging Department of Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Temerloh, Pahang since May 2008.
