Dear WHS Families and Friends

Dear WHS Families and Friends,

At Windsor High School our hallways are filled with the energy and excitement of our students and our classrooms are filled with exploration and learning. I can honestly say that we have had an extremely positive and productive start to the 2017-18 school year. Our teachers are already delivering interesting and challenging lessons and our students are equally engaged in learning and exploring new concepts.

Many of you have heard me say that, I believe that Windsor High School is one of the best in the country. Our school is often recognized for the achievement of our students in academics, athletics and in the arts. Over the past few years, we have been named a Missouri and a National School of Character. We have been voted as one of the top workplaces in the St. Louis area. And just this past year, we were given a 2017 Magna award by the National School Board Association for our “OWL Time” program (this award goes to the top 5 programs in the nation).

We are very proud of our students’ academic achievement and know that accomplishments like this are a result of a team effort. In order for our students to achieve at their highest level, it takes focused, relevant and engaging instruction, parental support and hardworking students. We have all of these at WHS. Thank you for helping our students achieve at such a high level. While we are proud of our accomplishments, we are also dedicated to work and improve in every area.

In addition to improving on past successes, we also have a few new items in store this year. Such as…

  • Beginning with this year’s Seniors, every student will receive 30 minutes of training in CPR and proper procedures for first aid for choking
  • Beginning with this year’s Freshman, every student will be required to take a 100 question exam similar to the US Citizenship & Immigration exam
  • As a added benefit to our nationally recognized “OWL Time” program, we are offering ACT prep time during the school day for our Juniors & Seniors

Incorporated into our curriculum is also the belief that everyone at Windsor is responsible for their learning, character, respect and relationships. It has become a way of life for us at WHS. You will see it displayed throughout our school on signs, bulletin boards, and posters. It is integrated into our lessons both in and out of the classroom.

We welcome you back to WHS and invite you to participate in our journey. GO OWLS!!!
