Dear Toronto Chapter Family and Friends:
April 2nd marks World Autism Awareness Day. The Toronto Chapter will be celebrating the 2nd Annual Raising of the Flag ceremony being held at 12 noon at City Hall (Queen/Bay Sts) followed by a reception. All are welcome, we hope to see you there.
TCDSB hosts an “Autism Awareness Night” at the Catholic School Board, 80 Sheppard Avenue East between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. The theme of the evening is “Looking Ahead Together: Building Success for Students with Autism”. There will be representatives from various organizations and guest speakers who will address the steps needed in order to prepare students with Autism for life after high school. Community partners, including Autism Ontario Toronto Chapter will be setting up information booths for parents and staff who are invited to attend.
The Toronto Chapter has a limited order of “I Love Someone with Autism” t-shirts (black) and chapter logo on the back. T-shirts will be on sale for $10/ea in support of World Autism Awareness Day. T-shirts will be sold on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested, please email the Chapter at or if you are attending the TCDSB Autism Awareness Night, we’ll have t-shirts for sale there too.
There have been some recent changes to the Toronto Chapter Leadership Council. Due to personal reasons Ginny Pearce has stepped down from her CLC President role only; she remains an active Chapter member and we are happy of her continued commitment to Autism Awareness and the Toronto Chapter! We are happy to announce Janice Yuen as Interim Chapter Leadership President for the balance of the 2013-2014 term.

The Toronto Chapter will be taking part in the upcoming Mississauga Marathon, being held May 3rd and May 4th. The Toronto Chapter is coming together to raise funds and, awareness as we continue to support families living with Autism in the GTA!! Join our Toronto Chapter team! Note there is a registration fee to participate and fee is not income tax deductible. Your CLC will be participating in the Starbucks Hazel 5km marathon.
