Dear Stockdale Stars, Families and Community:
Stockdale Elementary has again been named to Renaissance National Honor Roll for optimizing students’ growth in reading.
Stockdale Elementary was informed that they are still the only school in Kern County and only one of seven schools in California to be recognized with this national reading honor.
Stockdale Elementary earned this distinction through the Renaissance Empowered Educator Program. The nationwide program guides effective implementation of products designed to differentiate instruction and personalize student practice.Stockdale Elementary received this honor for outstanding implementation of Accelerated Reader, a K-12 program that personalizes reading practice and enables teachers to monitor comprehension and growth.
The Renaissance Empowered Educator Program provides educators with product-specific Empowerment Progressions, a natural progression of data and classroom strategies that increase student engagement and lead to an effective and sustainable implementation.Empowered Educators utilize data to make timely instructional decisions. They also share resources, ideas, and strategies with other educators through an online community.
If you have not already done so, I strongly encourage you to visit our web page, and regester for Renaissance Home Connect Email Notifications. This can be found under the “For Parent” section. Click on “Renaissance Home Connect” in the middle of the drop down menu. Then, log on with your child’s user name and password. They should know this. If not, communicate with the teacher. Next, in the upper righthand corner you will find the “Email Setup” option. You may sign up multiple emails. For example, grandma and grandpa in Washington State could receive notification of reading success.
Currently we have 187 students regestered with 7,097 at home logins. 34,228 email notifications of student progress and results have been sent out this school year. Don’t miss out on this great feature of keeping families connected with student learning.
I have set the goal to exceed 225 total registered students. Hopefully this letter will help Stockdale reach this new goal.
