Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all of you who attended the Christmas Fayre on Friday. We hope that you enjoyed it. We are very grateful to the PFA who organised another very successful event- their time, commitment and energy is very much appreciated.

Christmas officially began on Friday with a Christmas sing-song and the lighting of our Christmas tree. It was a magical moment.

The school choir sang beautifully alongside the Newport male voice choir at St. Mary’s Church on Thursday- there wasn’t a dry eye to be seen. We are all very proud of you all.

A big thank you to Rev. Sue for organising such a fabulous event.

Attendance

Our attendance figures are due to be reviewed by the Local Authority’s attendance team this week. Could we please remind parents that any requests for absence have to be made beforehand and such requests will be considered on an individual basis. The school continues to scrutinise attendance regularly.

School Clubs

Please be reminded that this week is the final week this term for clubs. A new programme of clubs will begin in the spring term. These will start the W/C 22nd January. Could I extend my thanks to the teachers who have led the clubs so successfully this term. (NB- Due to small numbers, there will only be one football after-school club. This will be on a Wednesday evening for both Year 5 and 6. Numbers are limited to 30)

Parking for Pandas Club

Could we please remind parents that for health and safety reasons, the drop off areas for Panda Club is at the far end of the car park. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Safeguarding Considerations- Christmas Concerts

In our Christmas brochure we made the recommendation that pupils should not be filmed during the concerts. The Digi-Bot team is currently reviewing our arrangements. They have produced a film which will be played before each concert reminding everyone of safety on line. We feel that as a community there has to be a level of trust regarding the sharing of images on social media platforms. Therefore, as long as images are for personal use only and they are not shared on Facebook/Whats-App or any other platforms, parents will be permitted to take them.

Christmas Brochure

We hope you found the calendar of events for Christmas useful. If you require an additional copy of this please contact reception.
