Dear Parents and Carers,

Ironbridge Tuesday 27th February – Friday 2nd March 2018

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

We shall be leaving Tillingbourne on Tuesday 27th February at approximately 9:10am. The children should arrive in school between 8.30 and 8.45. We will be returning at 2.30pm, approximately, on Friday 2nd March.

All monies should now have been paid. If not, can you please settle the outstanding balance on-line as soon as possible and by 31st January at the latest. The children will not be able to go on the trip unless full payment has been made or other arrangements have been agreed.

Address/Emergencies

We are staying at Coalport Youth Hostel, The High Street, Coalport, Shropshire and Coalbrookdale Youth Hostel, 1 Paradise, Coalbrookdale, Shropshire.

The children cannot receive or make telephone calls. Mobiles are not allowed. Should an emergency occur we will contact you directly on the number you give on the attached form. In an emergency, should you need to contact staff at Ironbridge, please do so via the school office during school hours (01483 504384) or by directly phoning the youth hostel out of school hours.

IRONBRIDGE - PACKING LIST

All clothing must be named and packed in a suitable labelled suitcase/holdall which your child can carry and close! As the weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, the children will need to be able to dress in several layers of clothing. Please note that old clothes are preferable.

They will need:

·  2 pairs of outdoor shoes – these could be trainers (sturdy, good for walking)

·  A pair of shoes or firm soled slippers with backs (not open-toed) to wear as indoor shoes

·  2 or 3 pairs of trousers/tracksuit bottoms

·  4 - 5 shirts/T shirts

·  Light sweaters/sweatshirts

·  2 heavy sweaters/sweatshirts/warm fleece

·  Waterproof Jacket - essential

·  Hat, scarf, gloves

·  Underwear

·  Socks (plenty of pairs)

·  Nightwear

·  Wash kit – in a plastic bag or wash bag

·  Towel

Please ensure girls do not bring any makeup

2 large polythene bags for dirty/wet clothing

Spending money – up to £10 in a small, named purse or wallet (in change is preferable).

Labelled Day rucksack, containing pencil case (pens, pencils, rubber, sharpener), packed lunch (in a plastic bag) for the journey including drink in a named bottle which will be used each day of the trip, a snack, waterproof coat, inhaler if needed, card game, reading book or travel game.

For Victorian School

Boys

Boys - an extra pair of black/grey/brown knee long socks

Grey/black trousers – can be school trousers

1 pair school shoes - trainers will not be suitable

Girls

Long hair to be tied back with black or grey hair ties
Black or white tights, grey or black socks

Black school shoes

Please do not allow your child to bring any watches, torches, electronic games or devices, jewellery, extra food, sweets or valuables. Cameras (named) may be brought but please note that the staff cannot take any responsibility for these items.

Your child may bring a reading book, cuddly toy or small pocket travel games (not electronic) for the evening. Please pack these in their rucksacks so they can be used on the coach journey.

Medication should be named, in date and brought into school on the morning of departure, with full instructions for dosage on the attached form. This includes travel sickness pills in their original packaging, for the return journey. An Emergency Contact and Medical Form is enclosed. Please return the form by Monday 5th February.

If there are any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact one of the Year 5 teachers or come along to the drop in question and answer session which will take place on Tuesday 6th February at 3:20 – 3:40pm in Year 5.
