Course Description:

With the speaking and listening emphasis in the curriculum, students should be practicing their Overall Speaking Comprehension and Overall Listening Comprehension in each class. Most classes will include a period of time where students are creating conversations, role plays, descriptive, or summative presentations which helps meet the Conversation, Informal Discussion, Overall Written Interaction, Cooperating, Planning, and Orthographic Control. After taking the time to prepare their presentations, students give their presentations either to the teacher or to the entire class. These presentations give the students the opportunity to practice their speaking as well as listening skills. Most presentations will help students meet the Overall Listening Comprehension, Listening as a Member of a Live Audience, Overall Spoken Interaction, Conversation, Overall Spoken Production, Addressing Audiences, Monitoring & Repair, Phonological Control, Propositional Precision, and Spoken Fluency goals.

Learning Outcome;

-To enhance overall speaking skills through methods such conversation, discussion, role-play and debate

-To improve listening comprehension of real-life media such as news radio news, podcasts and video

-To promote natural use of the English language in important life skills such as job interviews, presentations and in social situations

Learning Procedure:

-Students will be practice their speaking and listening skills. They have to create conversation, role play and descriptive presentation to meet the course goal.

The ratio of evaluation score between formative and final examination is =70:30
