Dear Parent(s) or Guardian,
I am looking forward to having your son/daughter in 7th Grade On-Level Texas History this year. It promises to be a busy, rewarding, and exciting year!
On the other side of this letter, please find a Course Overview which explains the basic information about the class including the grading policy, tutoring schedule, late work policy, and the expectations for students in my classroom. I will regularly update my webpage so please reference it for due dates, notes, and copies of assignments.
It would be ideal if your child did not miss any classes, however, sometimes absences cannot be avoided. It is the student’s responsibility to make up any work missed. It may not be possible to make up the work during class, so your child may have to come before or after school in order to make up for lost time. Failing to make up work will have an adverse effect on the student’s grade. Most of our work is graded in class which adds to the students’ understanding of the information. If a student is absent or turns work in late, they will be expected to attend the next available tutoring session in order to make up the work. Please access the website when your child is absent. The website has necessary materials to help reinforce material and prepare for tests. If your child is struggling, please encourage them to attend tutoring.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with you in order to ensure your son/daughter’s success this year. I am also looking forward to meeting you at Open House on September 3, at 6:30 PM.
If there is anything I should know about your son or daughter that would help make this a more successful year, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Miller
