At the end of the last school year your son/daughter expressed an interest in attending the 2017 Kirk Balk Academy WW1 Battlefields trip.
I am pleased to announce the trip is going to run from Monday 26th to Thursday 29th June 2017.
The trip will include visits to numerous cemeteries and battlefields at the Somme and Passchendaele. Students will also have the opportunity to experience the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate, Ypres on Tuesday 27th June.
The total price for the trip has now been determined at £320. This includes coach and ferry transport, overnight accommodation, breakfast and evening meals on the ferry crossing and at the overnight accommodation, with insurance also included.
To confirm a place for your child please pay a £100 deposit by Monday 12th December. The remaining £220 then needs to be paid in full by Friday 3rd February. The preferred method of payment is online using the Squid system. To access the new Squid portal with the trips option go to: http://portal.squidcard.com/loginportal To access this new website, follow the same log in process and use the same log in details that you use for dinner money, and then select the trip purse and look in available offers for this trip. If you have not used the Squid system before contact the Finance department in school for your child’s log in details and any help you require. Parents who cannot pay on line can pay by cheque or cash.
Please be aware that your son/daughter will require a valid passport and EHIC in order to travel. We will have information evenings at school closer to the time of travel.
