- Briefly review the major concepts covered in class last Thursday (the challenges of development and Africa seeks a better future).
- Chapter 33 Section THREEChina and India: Two Giants of Asia1076-1081.
- Students will review the four headings of Chapter 33 Section THREE, and annotate the major points in each subheading in their notes/daily writes.
- Using the HOM matrix, review the primary source document China’s Role in the World Todayfollowed by India’s Role to Grow in World Affairs. Students will then discuss the major points in class OR the May 2015 Time Magazine interview with Indian Prime Minister Modi.
- ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: Students will move to the side of the room corresponding to either China or India depending on in which of the two countries they would rather live. As the points are debated politely between sides, students may cross the room to join the other side if they change their minds through the persuasive arguments presented during the debate.
- Review the geographic location of the nations studied today.
- Answer questions three and six on page 1080 on their daily writing sheets.

- Briefly review the major concepts covered in class last yesterday about China and India, the two giants of Asia.
- ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: Students will use the World Geography books for one minute to list as many features about Brazil as they can; they will then use the slide rule strategy to exchange information.
- Chapter 33 Section FOURLatin America Builds Democracy 1082-1089.
- Students will review the four main headings of Chapter 33 Section FOUR, and annotate the major points in each subheading in their notes/daily writes.
- Distribute and using the HOM matrix, review the primary source document Brazil’s Role in the World Today.Then discuss the major points in class. Students will cite specific claims in the document and work as a class to formulate arguments driven by those claims.
- Review the geographic location of the nations studied today.
- Answer questions three through five on page 1088 on their daily writing sheets.

- Examine social, political, and economic trends in Europe after the Cold War.
- Analyze how the United States’ and Russia’s shifting roles have affected the balance of global power.
- Understand how important economic changes have affected Asia since the end of the cold war.
- FOCUS QUESTION: How did the end of the Cold War affect industrialized nations and regions around the world?

- Preview questions one through three on page 1099.
- Chapter 34 Section ONE Industrialized Nations after the Cold War pages1096-1099.
- Students will review the main headings of Chapter 34 Section ONE, and annotate the major points in each subheading in their notes/daily writes.
- ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: Students will identify one nation under discussion today which they would like to visit and explain why on their daily writing sheets. Students will then mingle to the music and when the music stops exchange their country and reasons with the nearest student.
- Students will answer questions three through five on page 1099 on their daily writing sheets.
