Dear EOF Student

May 23, 2017

Dear EOF Student,

Welcome to The College of New Jersey’s Educational Opportunity Fund Program (EOF), Class of 2021. This packet serves to transition you to your new EOF family.

We are excited to welcome you as a new TCNJ Summer Scholar. Considering the immense transition you are soon to begin, here are some resources to get you ready for your arrival to the EOF Summer Program, which will begin with Move-In Day on Saturday, July 8th:

  • The EOF Program Orientation will take place on Saturday, June 24th. This orientation is mandatory for all students and parents. Any questions regarding EOF, the freshmen experience, financing your education, program of study, and others will all be answered at orientation. If there are any conflicts with attendance, contact the EOF office immediately at 609-771-2280.
  • Helpful information regarding campus housing, financial aid, and class registration can all be found in your Transitions Booklet, which was sent to you. It prominently features the word, “ROAR” on its cover. Make sure to read and familiarize yourself with the content of this book.
  • You should have received your TCNJ email account information at this point. If not, please connect with me so I can help you resolve this issue. Begin the habit of checking your TCNJ email account regularly (every 2-3 days) as this will be the official mode of communication for The College moving forward.
  • Information on logging into the New Student Online Orientation tool (NS055) has already been sent to your TCNJ email account. NSO55 will help youpreregister for Fall classes and connect with academic resources. This online module will alsobe used to find information about placement testing, your First Semester Worksheet (FSW), and applying for housing.
  • You will receive an email in early July regarding On-Campus Orientation for your academic major. Again, make sure to check your TCNJ email address regularly for important information.
  • Work with your high school guidance counselor to have your final transcript sent to the Office of Admissions by July 1st. Failure to comply with this deadline can impact your acceptance into TCNJ.

Enclosed you will find the EOF Program staff directory and a suggested summer program packing list. Feel free to reach out to me or the EOF Program staff if you should have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to meeting you on Saturday, June 24th, and helping you find your way here at TCNJ.

Sincerely,

Ariel Matos
