Dear Band and Color Guard Seniors and Parents of Seniors – Graduating Class of 2018,

The 2017–2018 Cy-Woods HS Band Booster Club will award four (4) scholarships valued in the amount of $500.00 each to selected senior band and color guard members who will continue their education at a college or university.

To be considered for one of these scholarships, the student must be a current member of the band or color guard. Seniors in each band and color guard are urged to apply! If interested, the student needs to complete the attached application/essay and return it on or before Fri, April 20th. A committee of Booster parents and/or faculty will choose the recipients. All applications will be judged on the student’s musical/dance excellence, leadership, and content of their essay.

Please submit both the application and essay directly to the Committee Chair as instructed below.

Parents, please encourage your graduating senior to complete the required forms as they will notbe considered without a completed application and essay.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to continue studying music in college whether as a music major or non-music major who plans to be in the college band. The other scholarships will be awarded based on a student’s overall experience while in the Wildcat Band. Students do not need to be continuing their music/dance education in order to be considered for one of these three awards.

The recipients of the scholarships will be announced at the Band Banquet on Saturday, May 19th. A check for the award amount will be made payable to the student’s college or university to be applied toward tuition for their first semester.

On behalf of the Band Booster Club Officers, we thank you for the opportunity to work with you and your children this past year. If you have any questions, I can be reached by email.

Sincerely,

Alissa Stolz
