About Disability Action in Islington (DAII):

DAII is a local disability rights charity based on Upper Street, Islington. DAII provides a range of services that enable local disabled people to achieve and maintain choice, control and independence in their lives and access services and opportunities. DAII also works to promote a more accessible and inclusive environment and represents the views, needs and interests of disabled people at a local and regional level.

Job Description: Office Administrator/Project Support Worker

Overview:

Disability Action in Islington (DAII) is seeking an advanced level administrator with previous project support experience to provide administrative and project support to the DAII Office Manager and various project managers.

The Role:

·  Develop and maintain administrative processes and information systems to support project delivery;

·  Book meeting rooms, prepare and issue agendas and supporting documentation, organise technology and refreshments, take accurate minutes and distribute paperwork;

·  Prepare letters, memoranda, reports, databases and other word processing and spreadsheet documents relating to project delivery;

·  Deal with incoming and outgoing post, including collating and organising bulk mail-outs, and provide general assistance with photocopying, filing and faxing;

·  Assist with the planning and organisation of events and consultations;

·  Provide support for a number of projects, researching and preparing appropriate project material;

·  Undertake monitoring and performance reviews of projects, services and user feedback

·  Compile financial and statistical information about project performance for managers to present to internal colleagues, partners and funders;

·  Reception duties;

·  Input data on the DAII database and update as required;

·  Update the DAII website;

·  Carry out other tasks as requested

Personal Specification

You must have:

·  Two years administrative / project experience;

·  An understanding of disability equality;

·  Experience in minute-taking and producing accurate records of meetings;

·  Experience of covering a reception desk;

·  Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Packages (esp. Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

·  Ability to effectively organise personal workloads and work well under pressure;

·  Ability to work on your own initiative;

·  Attention to detail;

·  Ability to undertake a diverse workload;

·  Ability to work to different project leads;

·  Good interpersonal skills;

·  Excellent team working skills;

·  Strong customer service skills;

·  Disciplined but flexible approach.
