SCHOOL LANE CHARTER SCHOOL GRADE 6

Evening of the Arts

Dear 6th grade Parents and Guardians,

The 6th grade has been practicing their dance moves and creating artwork to share with their families. The Evening of the Arts will involve their work in Physical Education and Art Class and will have a multi-cultural theme. On Wednesday March 9that6:30pm, you are invited to come to school and participate in our Evening of the Arts! Please be prompt as your child will first be performing in his/her dance routine.

The 6th graders have learned dances from different countries:Japan, Greece, Germany, and Romania. In Art Class students have been connecting their artwork to topics they are discussing/will discuss in Individuals in Society and English Language Arts. Students’ artwork focuses on Greek, Roman and Japanese Art. At 6:30PM students will be performing their dance and then following the dance students would like to share their artwork with you. Students have created a presentation about their artwork, and following their presentation, would like to welcome your feedback on what they have done well and what they could have improved upon. At the conclusion of the dance and art presentation you are free to walk around and look at other student’s artwork, until our exhibition evening ends at 7:20PM.

Thank you for your time and support, and we look forward to seeing you on March 9th! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!

Sincerely, Mrs. Draut and Ms.
