Biography: / Lecturer in the Department of Spatial Information Sciences in the Dublin Institute of Technology since 1995 and previously employed for 15 years on the senior management team of Ordnance Survey Ireland whilst serving as an officer in the Irish Defence Forces. He has served on the council of the Irish Institution of Surveyors (IIS) since 1992 and as the IIS President from 2000 to 2002. He also served as the IIS representative on the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors (CLGE) and as the CLGE President from 1998 to 2001. He has been the chair of the IIS Commission on Land Registration since 2006 and the chair of the Inter-Professional Task Force on Property Boundaries since 2009.
