A one-bedroom apartment in Denton costs approximately $550 per month.

This does not include your electricity or phone, although water / sewer / trash bill is often included.

Many apartments do not have a washer and dryer, so you have to use the laundry facilities either on site or go to an off-site Laundromat.

Don’t forget transportation? Do you have a car? Is it paid off, or do you have to make car payments? Maintenance (oil changes, brakes, etc.) need to be factored in. Can you walk or bike or take public transportation?

What about cable TV / dish? Internet? Cell phone?
