Patricia Batty: need AV unit too Cath
CathBodrell: Yes
Alan Gourlay: We'll give you a bit more time to type your questions (from Kelly)
Angela Mowat: Confirm the bridging pack covers the missing parts to award N5 numeracy please?

Alan Gourlay: Your centre would need to do a change of level to action this.
Graham Dorrat: Is testing subskills at N3 not allowed as well as the higher ones? Compare with Access 3
CathBodrell: Will additional unit assessments be provided by SQA for reassessments?
Alan Gourlay: No Cath, we will be published prior verified assessments from other centres later in September though. These will go on SQA secure.
Alan Gourlay: *publishing
CathBodrell: thank you
Kelly Milford: We will take the last question from Graham, for now.
Graham Dorrat: Thanks - does that mean we can assess subskills on separate occasions at N3?
Kelly Milford: Edwin, did you have a question? We will answer as we go
Graham Dorrat: OK Thanks
Angela Mowat: Thanks for answering our submitted questions, Alan
Kelly Milford: We are all now typing under our own names!
Edwin Irvine: Some pupils in a general class could work hard and get a 3, but wouldn't cope with Credit level work. How do we cater for such pupils doing N4, if they find N5 a step too far?
CathBodrell: Is a D classed as a pass?
Patricia Batty: classed as an achievement Cath
David Kettle:
Kelly Milford: Edwin, some pupild could be presented for 1,2 or 3 N5 Units within their N4 course. so some differentiation can be provided.
Kelly Milford: Candidates may also find the "real life" contexts in N5 Lifeskills mathematics may be more accessible
David Kettle:
David Kettle: : )
Angela Mowat: Could you please confirm that both old and new Highers will be running in 2014-15? This was confirmed already but just for certain...
Clare MacPherson-: Thank you very much. That was very useful.
Alan Gourlay: yes both will be running in 2014-2015
Angela Mowat: Thanks
Graham Dorrat: In Nat 4 numeracy (H225 74) package 1 Unit by Unit approach, in the assessment grid, why are there two columns for the 1.4 assessment standard. Do pupils have to pass each individually?
Alan Gourlay: yes
CathBodrell: Very useful 'seminar' - thank you! Would like to see more in the future.
Patricia Batty: the grid graham is talking about has errors in it
Kelly Milford: Thank you Cath we will pass on your feedback! Many thanks for your participation
Kelly Milford: Hi Patricia can you send me (Michelle) details on the errors and I will take this forward?
Graham Dorrat: In Q12 of the same N4 numeracy paper, the grid is missing a 1.4 box. Does this mean pupils have to pass 1 out of the 2 possible opportunities for this type of question?
Patricia Batty: no probelm will email michelle tomorrow
Kelly Milford: Thanks Patricia
Edwin Irvine: Thanks for the seminar and opportunity to ask quesitons.
Kelly Milford: You are welcom Edwin if you have further qs please e-mail your cfe contact
Alan Gourlay: Graham, is it the question about the buses?
Graham Dorrat: Why is there such a difference in the number of oppotunities to show you can pass the 1.4 interpret task 1out of 1, whereas you only have to pass 1 out of 7 opportunities for measure?
Patricia Batty: thanks for this webinar. I actually attended the meeting in February and glad I did it was very useful and has now made everything so much clearer. Hoping to attend Higher one too.
Graham Dorrat: Alan - yes it is the hiring of busses question.
Patricia Batty: graham you only need to put in one measure unit to pass
Kelly Milford: Hope to see you soon Patricia
Alan Gourlay: the assessments were written by individual writes and confirmed as meeting the standards. You are at liberty to amend these as long as you meet the standard.
Alan Gourlay: *writers
David Kettle: Hi Cath, you've still got your hand up do you have any more questions?
David Kettle: ah, just gone, I guess not
Graham Dorrat: Patricia - yes, that is my point.but you have seven chances to do it, whereas you only have one chance to show you can do Q9 (how much more water do you need to add).
Alan Gourlay: Hi Graham you would be at liberty to adapt the assessment to suit your centre as long as it still conformed to AS
Patricia Batty: thnak you for your time.
David Kettle: Thanks for coming Patricia, we'll have the recording up by tomorrow if you want to watch anything again
Patricia Batty: meant thank!
Michelle Sharpe: Thank you both, we are running out of time. Please continue to liaise with your liaison Manager.
Graham Dorrat: In questions 2 and 4 of the same N4 numeracy test, on the marking grid, should there be 2 boxesat Whole Numbers and 3 boxes at either time or whole numbers to reflect the number of bullet point marks for these questions?
Michelle Sharpe: Alan is just checking that out Graham.
Graham Dorrat: Thanks
Alan Gourlay: Hi Graham I think the grid has been updated and I hope that the update will answer your query if not could you pass your nquestion on to me again
Michelle Sharpe: new versions of the documents were published on the 9th August.
Graham Dorrat: OK, presumeably the upgraded version will be on the website soon, and, will you inform schools that there is an upgrade for them to see?
Michelle Sharpe: They went on the website on the 9th August and and update was sent to SQA Co-ordinators.Check the mathematics landing page for an update on the maths changes.
Michelle Sharpe: some are still being updates and notification willbe issued soon (around a fortnight).
Michelle Sharpe: We have to go now, sorry.
Graham Dorrat: The version I am asking about was printed off more recently. Are there still changes to be made to these grids then?
Michelle Sharpe: Yes, final changes in a fortnight.
Michelle Sharpe: Thanks for taking part, bye.
Graham Dorrat: OK. Thank you very much for this session.
