David Chung

David Chung joined the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Ltd in 2004 as Senior Manager in charge of IT operations. He leads 4 cores IT functions at Cyberport - IT&T services operation, Digital Media Centre, iResource Centre and Digital Entertainment Incubation and Training Centre. Under his direction, Cyberport is continuing to provide excellent IT facilities to its tenants and focusing significant resources in fostering the local digital entertainment industry and technology innovation.

Prior to Cyberport, Mr. Chung was the Managing Director and co-founder of Digital Empires Co Ltd, a strategic internet professional services company. The company was then acquired by i100 Corporation, a Hong Kong listed company in 2002. He had driven IT and business operation excellence within i100 as well as developed the business applications for Noodle mobile (1st MVNO licensee in Hong Kong).

As an eight-year veteran of Microsoft, Mr. Chung had been the Technical Director in charge of support organization for Hong Kong, China and United States. He joined Microsoft Hong Kong in 1992 and spearheads the support organization to be the first in Microsoft to attain the ISO9002 quality certification. He had established the Microsoft Asia Escalation Centre in Shanghai and expanded his role to oversee the enterprise product support in Greater China and Asia Partner Alliance. While in 1999, he moved to Microsoft Headquarter, oversaw the global and national partner support strategy and handled the Y2K transition.

Mr. Chung holds an MBA from the Open University of Hong Kong and a BSc. (Eng.) degree in Computer Science from the Imperial College, University of London. Currently, Mr. Chung is undertaking an Engineering Doctorate Degree programme at City University of Hong Kong.
