China Teacher Exchange

Mrs Parker and I had an amazing time in Shanghai. We spent time in 3 different primary schools, looking at how they taught maths, working with maths teachers and talking to children. We are very excited about the return visit of two specialist maths teachers in November to work with children in Years 2 and 3.

Reception News

This week we have read a new “Big Book” called

“ Wandas Space Party” The children have been making up stories about aliens- we have hunted for aliens in the garden and have been busy making alien masks, painting aliens, and making new planets. In phonics we have learnt “l” and the the

digraph “ll”.
This week in maths we have introduced “cup man” and the children have been acting out number addition stories. To celebrate Eid we have made and written Eid cards and had a party.

Ghyll Head

Year 6 have had a fabulous week at Ghyll Head. Thank you to all the children to throwing themselves into all the exciting activities and to the staff for enabling the children to have such a great experience.

There’ll be ghostly dancing, devilishly good food and amazing potions to drink; fantastical face-painting, terrible tattoos and a monstrous lucky dip! Tickets are £1.50 per child. Look out for the forms in bookbags and return them quickly as tickets will sell-out fast!

Can you help at the events? Text Mark (Dad of Seth Yr2 and Myles R3) on 07714 216344. Can you donate a cake? Bring it to the event or drop off at the office on the day of the disco. Are you in year 6? Let your teacher know if you’d like to run a stall or help out at the discos.

The Winter Fair is already well on its way to being organised, so here’s a Save the Date reminder.
