Boys & Girls Club of Tahlequah Youth Baseball League Spring 2018 Season

Boys & Girls Club of Tahlequah’s registration for the Cal Ripken Youth Baseball League will be held February1st through March 2nd, 2018.

The Registration fee:participants will receive shirt, and cap.(Participants will get to keep the shirt and cap) Parent will be required to supply white baseball pants and baseball socks.

A copy of the birth certificate must accompany the registration form.

The registration form can be picked up at all Boys & Girls Club of Tahlequah Schools, the B&GC Main office, Felts Shoes.

Registration forms must be returned by February 27th,2018. Registration forms can only be turned in at the B&GC Main office located at the corner of Cherokee & Morgan, Monday through Fridaybetween the hours of 9:30AM TO 5:00PM or at the combine scheduled for February 27th and March 1st.

All participants EXCEPT T-ball divisionmust attend one of the combine/skills assessments. Combine/Skills assessment will be held at Central Gym (corner of Cherokee and Morgan).

COMBINE/ SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES:

February 27th, 2018 7/8yr olds------6:00PM to 8:00PM

March 1st, 2018 9/10yr olds------6:00PM to 7:00PM

March 1st, 2018 11-13yr olds------7:00PM to 8:00PM

Games will start mid April and end mid June. Each team will have approximately 10games and tournament, not including anypost season Cal Ripken tournaments. Rain out games will be made-up if possible.

Age Divisions:

4-6 Yr. old T-Ball

7/8 Yr. old Rookie league

9/10 Yr. old Minor League

(Player Pitch)

11-13 Yr. old Major League

(Player Pitch)

Age cutoff date FOR 4-12: April 30, 2018

Age cutoff for 13 yr is Jan 1, 2018

If you are 13 before Jan 1, 2018 you are too old

Boys & Girls Club Youth Baseball League 2018

Dear Parents/Coaches,

Boys & Girls Club Baseball will be offering a slightly different venue for the 2018 baseball season. We will be offering both a registration to bring your own team as well as registration for players to be put on a team through a draft if you have not found a team for your player.

In the U-13, U-10, and U-8 coaches can bring their own team with a maximum number of 15 players and minimum of 12 players. Players that are not registered on a team will register at the Boys & Girls Club, MUST attend the combine, and will be placed on teams through a draft. The T-ball teams will be formed as a draft like previous years.

All players registering as a team will be responsible for buying their own uniforms as well as equipment. Those who register individually will be required to purchase their pants. A T-Shirt/jersey and cap will be provided.

All coaches will be required to pass a Boys & Girls Club background check prior to coaching or starting practice in the league.

We will still play under the Cal Ripken /Babe Ruth rules so we will have the opportunity to form an all-star team and compete at the State, regional and World Series level.

The draft will be held the week of March 5th with practices starting the week after.

Games will be start mid-April and run through mid-June.

Registration Fees U-13, U-10, and 8-U

Team registration $70 per player.

  • Player will provide all of their uniform. Uniforms must match

Individual registration $80 per player

  • Player must attend the combine to be placed on a team
  • Player will be provided a Cap and T-shirt/Jersey
  • Player must provide pants

T-Ball

Individual registration $50 per player

  • Player does not need to attend a combine
  • Player will be provided a Cap and T-shirt/Jersey
  • Player must provide pants

For players 12 and under, May 1st is the date to determine what age group the player is in.

If a player is 13 before January 1st, 2018 they cannot play.

All players must have a copy of their birth certificate with the application.

Applications can be picked up at any of the schools as well as our main office at central. They can also be found on our website at tahlequahbgca.org. The applications can be turned in anytime between now and the combine dates at the main Boys & Girls Club office at the Central Gym.

Combine scheduled:

U-8 only -Tuesday, February 27th 6PM-8PM

U-10 -Thursday, March 1st 6PM

U-13 –Thursday, March 1st 7PM

If a team is formed, the coach will contact Dennis Kelley at 918-931-1880 to meet and receive the team packet and returned before the combine dates February 27th and March 2nd.

If a player is not on a formed team we will still have a draft like previous years. Those players MUST attend the combine. If a player is on a formed team, you do not need to attend the combine.

The purpose of this is to form a bigger and more competitive baseball program in Tahlequah.

If things go as planned we will continue this for next year.
