Benjas: The Best Thai Food Restaurant in The Land
I consider myself a pretty picky when it comes to my food. I’m also one that once I find something that I love, it’s hard for me to eat some place else or even order something different at the same restaurant. One thing’s for sure though, I love food! One type of food that I have learned to love is Thai Food and if you’re looking for a Thai restaurant that cant be beat, the only place to go is Benjas!
Benjas is a Thai restaurant in St. George. It is kind of hidden and hard to find so you have to know where to look. It is towards the end of the Blvd right next to the Pizza Factory. It is a quiet, peaceful, clean restaurant that offers the best of everything when it comes to Thai. I have eaten at many Thai restaurants from ones in Florida to Provo to good old Cedar CityUtah and none can even compare. Why is it so good? Well let me break it down.
First and foremost is the food. It simply can’t be beat. The great thing about Benjas is that the food is amazing as a complete meal, from the appetizers to the desert. I would recommend starting off with the Spring Rolls. They are incredible. I haven’t found an egg roll that can compare. The dipping sauce makes them. They are served with a sweet and sour sauce and calls down the angels from above. For a main meal you can’t beat the Pad-seeuh. It is sort of a stir-fry served with really wide rice noodles, with veggies and your choice of beef, chicken, pork, or seafood. I always go beef and no

veggies. It can’t be beat. Then to end your meal, you have to go with the pride of the restaurant, the Mango and Sticky rice. My mouth is drooling just thinking about it. It is a slice of mango served on top of sweet sticky rice with coconut milk drizzled on top. May sound a little weird, but it simply can’t be beat. If Sushi is more your thing, there is a mountain of rolls that you can choose from freshly made at the sushi bar by those gnarly chefs with the tall hats and huge knives.
The food isn’t the only thing that makes Benjas so good though. The service can’t be topped. When you walk through the door you are greeted by a friendly host that immediately seats you and hands you a huge menu. Then come the waiters and waitresses. They are caring and stay on top of things. They never leave your glass empty and ask what you need and how the food is. Just as important though, they aren’t overpowering and allow you to eat your food and don’t ask you questions every fifteen seconds. I hate it when servers do that!
The atmosphere is awesome. The restaurant is decorated with Thai Furniture and decorations. In the background there is soft Yoga-type music playing blending with the sound of running water from a small water fall running down the wall. It is peaceful. A place where people can carry on a conversation without the deafening noise of clashing dishes or the drunks yelling and laughing at the table next to you. On the other hand it’s not to quiet so you don’t need to worry about everyone around you hearing in on what you have to say. The tables are nicely spaced so you can have your privacy and not feel like your eating the person's food from the table next to you unlike some of the other restaurants I’ve been to.

All in all, the place deserves an A+. In my opinion it is the best Thai restaurant and one of the over all best restaurants in the land, a place so good that I go out of my way to eat there as often as I can. It is well worth the forty-minute drive. If you’re looking for a place with a clean, peaceful atmosphere, quality service, and food that can’t be beat, you have to experience Benjas!
