Job Title: Business Development Executive

Reports to:Business Director

GENERAL PURPOSE

Provide leadership in the development of applications and new business in the assigned market(s) across all Daikin product lines, both in the US and internationally.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1)Creates and documents market analysis, strategy and implementation/commercialization of Daikin products in a given market segment. Conduct market research studies and yearly surveys in the given market(s). Translates industry sales then into Daikin product share or potential share. Maintain all necessary market data and knowledge/information for the assigned industry.

2)Full knowledge of,access to, and influence atendusers to qualify Daikin products and technologies. Serve as a primary point of contact for DAI throughout the supply chain. Translate uncovered needs into practical actions that leads to sales of DAI products.

3)Creates and implements the market strategy and business plans with the team and the business director.

4)Provides Leadership end-user marketing for the company:

  1. Gain DAI product approvals
  2. Uncover new applications for DAI products
  3. Market DAI and its products

5)LeadsDAI resources (technical, sales, etc.), existing customers, industry standards organizations like ASTM and SAE, to bring about the successful commercialization of DAI products in target applications.

6)Manages development projects.

7)Direct account responsibility within the given market.

8)Requires considerable travel.

9)Additional Assignments as deemed necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. A successful marketing and/or sales management track record
  2. Minimum15 years of direct and/or indirect relevant industryapplications development in high-performance polymers.
  3. BS degree in Chemistry, ChemE, or related equivalent experience is required; Graduate level advanced studies in Marketing Strategy & Management are desired

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, polymer science or related field from an accredited university/college
  2. Minimum 10 years of industrial experience with fluoroelastomers and fluoropolymers or other engineered polymers
  3. Previous market/sales development experiences in the computer, aircraft, automotive, CPI and or electrical / electronics industries would be helpful
  4. Motivational leadership skills and good human relations skills are required to convince outside companies and those within the organization to dedicate time to accomplish certain activities towards the development of an application or product.
  5. Strong administrative skills
  6. Ability to use PC’s and corresponding software packages as tools for the job
  7. Enthusiasm, perseverance and curiosity are essential qualities for success.
  8. Ability to work across Japanese- American cultural lines
  9. Hands-on capability to assist fabricator customers in development and production scale-up activities is desirable.
  10. Good communication skills, combined with good organizational and project management skills.
