CZone®Expands Touchscreen Range with new Touch 5 including Built-in Wifi
Auckland, July 18th 2016–CZone®, a brand of BEP, the global leader in marine electrical systems and components is proud to announce the launch of the latest model in the range of CZone touchscreen displays, the Touch 5.
A smaller sibling to the Touch 10 launched last year, the new Touch 5 also features the latest generation capacitive touchscreen technology but has a couple of extra tricks up its sleeve. Like its bigger brother, this model has a super bright widescreen touch display allowinglow-profile flush mounting in a sleek glass dash display. This new size 5-inch diagonal display features a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels with an industry-leading leading 1200 nits, almost twice that of most smartphone screens. This enables the Touch 5 screen to be easily viewed in full sunlight.
Furthermore, the Touch 5 adds built-in WiFi connectivity allowing direct connection of tablet devices for onboard wireless control and monitoring. This is achieved in one integrated unit, reducing system cost and complexity. The CZone iPad app then allows users to move anywhere on board or within WiFi range and still monitor and control all their connected devices.
The Touch 5 has also upped the ante in the area of water ingress protection, featuring an IPX7 rating.Together with the smaller footprint, this water resistance provides improved choice of installation locations including flybridges or openhelms which are fully exposed to the elements.
The new Touch 5 module complements the new, second generation CZone Combination Output Interface (COI). The combination of the Touch 5 and the COI provides a highly cost-effective system for new build and retrofit applications, containing in just two modules all the elements required for a complete digital switching solution. Like all CZone products the Touch 5 has built-in NMEA2000 compatibility and integrates with the full CZone range of digital switching products on a common NMEA 2000 network backbone.
