“That Greystones Town Council write to the Minister for Health, the Minister for Justice and all the Local Authorities (County Councils and Town Councils) requesting that:

-the recommendations made by the Governments Strategic Task Force on Alcohol (May 2002) be implemented.

-that each Local Authority set up a committee to oversee the implementation of the reports findings”.

18(03)Limerick County Council – (31/7/03)

“That Limerick County Council calls on the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government immediately suspend the administration of the Housing Aid for the Elderly Scheme by the Health Boards and re-allocate the respective funding to local authorities as the bodies with statutory responsibility for housing”.

(i)“ThatMacroom Town Council calls on the Minister for Education to refrain from penalizing families with SSIA savings to his third level fees proposals”.

(ii)“That Macroom Town Council calls on the Minister for Health would consider a compromise on his planned banning of smoking in licensed premises”.

(iii)“That Macroom Town Council recommend that a levy be imposed on drink containers to be refunded only when the container is returned to the retailing outlet for proper disposal. All drink containers should bear an identifying mark denoting the place of purchase”.
