Dear Parents of New Band Members,
Welcome to the Band Department! I would like to inform you about some requirements for new members. All members of the band department are required to purchase a band folder. Wind Ensemble students will have the option to have their name inscribed on their folders. This is a high quality folder and, with some care, will last the entire time your student is here at Cypress Lake. Many students have taken their folders to use in their college bands.
We also have concert attire requirements. For the ladies, we have a long black dress that is worn by band, orchestra and vocal students. We order these dresses through the school and the cost is $63.00. Again, this is usually a one-time expense as most girls are able to wear the same dress all four years. Dresses can be made available to try on for sizing.
For the gentlemen, we require a standard black tuxedo. We do not order these through the school. There is a tux shop in town that gives special deals to Cypress Lake students for a complete tux. They offer tux jacket, pants, shirt, tie and cummerbund for $99.95. The name of the place is Black Tie Tuxedo across from Jamaica Bay just south of the Wal-Mart on US 41. Their phone number is 481-2238. They also have an amazing offer of doing sizing exchanges, as your son gets older and bigger.
Please make this payment no later than September 15, 2014. Cash and checks are accepted. Checks should be made out to Cypress Lake High School Band Boosters, our parent support organization.
