CAREER PATH:
06/2010 – Today:
Start-up of the company WordsULike sprl: leading a team of 5 translators within the framework of the ERP project at SNCB (Belgian Railways). Agreement for the delivery of translation services with Ypto (direction of IT projects within SNCB).
Translation of various documents for translation/communication agencies (Big 4’s newsletters, cultural programs, training & employment, cooking contest, user’s guide for various software programmes and web applications...)
01/2009 - 06/2010:
Start-up as a full-time freelance translator. Resignation from my employee’s contract at NCI. Signing of a contract with Syntigo (subsidiary of the SNCB Group) for the delivery of translation services.
Leading a team of 5 translators within the framework of a big SAP-ERP Project at SNCB (Belgian Railways) (NL-FR, FR-NL, EN-FR, EN-NL, NL-EN, DE-FR…).
Continuation of the collaboration with different translation/communication agencies (Akira Translations, Word Styling, Huis deBuren…Agreements, trainings, international treaties…)
06/2006 – 01/2009:
Translator-reviser (FR-NL-EN-RU-DE-PT-ES) at NCITranslation Center, in-house (large variety of documents) until October 2007, then on an outside posting with respect to the project Mind³, a SAP-ERP implementation program at SNCB Holding (Financial direction of the Belgian Railway Group), in partnership with the consulting company Deloitte & Touche.
Translations on a freelance basis (Telelingua, Brussels translations, Akira Translation, ENTP, U&I Learning,etc.)
01/2002 – 06/2006:
Dutch teacher primary education of the Communauté française de Belgique
Translations NL-FR, RU-FR, EN-FR in various areas (automotive, human rights…) and for several translation agencies (e.g. Lexitech).
Call center operator in French and Dutch (Kelly interim)
STUDIES:
1996-2001:
Master in Translation at ISTI (Brussels - Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes, section Dutch - Russian)
Every year passed with a distinction. Great distinction for my thesis: translation RU>FR of a chapter (60 pages) of Roy Medvedev’s book “Oni okhruzali Stalina” (All Stalin's men) with an analysis of 30 pages written in Russian.
Two training courses/internship of 1 month in Russia during my studies.
Diploma of Secondary Education of the Communauté française de Belgique through examination by a board of examiners (Jury Central).
