2008 – Awarded the Netherlands Fellowship for International Sports Journalism.

2007 – Awarded International FIDE Arbiter Status in Turkey by FIDE Chess.

2006 - Nominated as Western Cape Sports Administrator of the Year.

2005 – Winner of the Western Cape Sports Journalist Award for the Year.

2004 – Co-ordinator of South African Schools Chess Tour to Greece.

2003 – Represented South Africa at the World Chess Olympiad in Spain.

2002 – Event Organiser for South African Chess All Ages Championships.
