Biography

Lisa Jeffery is the CEO of Jeffery Communications Speech and Accent Academy, an international company that offers training, consulting and executive coaching in all communication skills including writing, public speaking, persuasion, fundraising and public relations. She teaches speech, persuasion and communication at Barry University and Advanced Business English at Florida International University, International MBA program. Lisa has trained thousands of people public speaking, accent reduction, writing, leadership skills, and building confidence and self-esteem. She has a diverse background with 27 years international experience — living working, and teaching in nine countries: the United States, Italy, Greece, France, Monaco, South Africa, Nigeria, Jamaica and the Bahamas. Her unique international insight and academic credentials sets her apart from other speakers, trainers and executive coaches.
Her clients include NBC, Merrill Lynch, Burger King, ING, Ritz Carlton Hotels, Bank of America, Friends of the Israeli Defense Fund, Nigerian Ministry of Transport, Jamaican Employers’ Federation, BusinessWire International sales teams, Diageo, Inc., the Palm Beach Human Resources Council and Home Diagnostics, Inc. She has trained more than 2,000 Miami-Dade County employees in communication skills – from firefighters, police officers, librarians to county spokespersons.
She is a former Captain in the United States Air Force, and a distinguished wartime veteran of the first Gulf War. As an Air Force Captain, she was Chief of Public Affairs at three bases in Italy and Greece from 1987-1992. While in Greece, as a journalist and executive editor, she won the award for Best Editorial Commentary and Best Newspaper in the United States Air Forces in Europe. She helped organize press conferences after the space shuttle Challenger exploded; terrorist attacks in Europe, and plane crashes in the Mediterranean. She was assigned to the White House Advance team as Media Liaison for two U.S. presidential visits (President George Bush Sr.) to Europe: Italy, 1989 and Greece, 1991. She also directed and anchored Armed Forces television and radio shows, and produced two fundraising documentaries. As a Lieutenant in Texas, she helped the Air Force raise $33 million for charity in 1986-1987. She helped Florida Memorial University raise $32 million in 1992. She was trained in Public Relations, Journalism and Broadcasting at the United States Defense Information School in Washington D.C.

She studied French at the Sorbonne in Paris and L’Institute des Etudes Françaises in Tours. She holds a Masters Degree in Business Communication and a MBA, International Marketing from the International University of Monaco. In 1994, she was selected as a Rotary Foundation International Ambassadorial Scholar, as an “Ambassador of Goodwill” to the Principality of Monaco. As a Scholar, her mission was to make speeches throughout Monaco, France, and the U.S. promoting international education, understanding and goodwill. Lisa speaks fluent French and is experienced in public speaking in both French and English. She earned her bachelors degree in Journalism and Communication at Chaminade University, Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1985.

Lisa is a published poet and writer, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Florida Poets. She is a member of the American Society for Training & Development, the Association of University Professors, Native American Journalists Association, Florida Speakers Association and the National Speakers Association.
