CTDP Senior Portfolio Authentication Certification Eligibility Requirement

To be eligible for the CTDP Senior Portfolio program candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 12 years full time across a broad range of competencies within the Competencies for Training and Development Professionals
  • Meet the requirements in a minimum of two of the three categories below

Category #1 – Knowledge and Education - Completion of one (1) of the following:

☐ / University degree in Adult Education or equivalent, related field
☐ / College certificate or diploma in adult learning, instructional delivery, facilitating learning sessions
☐ / A teaching certificate
☐ / A related designation e.g. CHRP, CHRL, CHRE
☐ / Continuing Education credits demonstrating learning and development knowledge and education (100 hours over a 5 year period)

Category #2 – Professional Experience & Accomplishments – Demonstrated accomplishments in any three (3) of the following:

☐ / Example of a learning and development intervention that demonstrates best practices and made a meaningful impact on the organization.
☐ / Example of a needs assessment or evaluation that was developed and which demonstrates best practices and made a meaningful impact on the organization.
☐ / Leadership of a learning and development function within an organization which demonstrates the ability to create and execute on business strategy.
☐ / Awards for exemplary professional practice within learning and development.
☐ / Teaching adult learning and development (instructional design and related) courses at a recognized post-secondary institution.

Category #3 - Professional Service - Demonstrated accomplishments in any two (2) of the following:

☐ / The creation of a significant body of teaching or learning materials in the area of learning and development (e.g. Book, chapter, article, research, courseware or curriculum).
☐ / Significant evidence of volunteering at The Institute for Performance and Learning, or related learning and development organization OR serving on a learning and development committee or advisory board.
☐ / Significant evidence of presenting at learning and development conferences or other professional learning and development events.
☐ / Significant evidence of professional or informal mentoring in learning and development.
☐ / Quality Assurance (audits, assessments of learning and development programs and delivery).
