Join the Central Texas SCJC delegation in honoring Bishop Mike McKee. The Central Texas Delegation to the South Central Jurisdictional Conference is hosting a conference-wide reception in honor of the election of Bishop Mike McKee from 4-6 p.m., Sunday Aug. 26. The reception will be held in the Family Life Center at Arborlawn United Methodist Church (5001 Briarhaven Road, Fort Worth, 76109). A Facebook page has been set up to RSVP and for more information.

The next Safe Sanctuary training session is next week. The local churches of the Central Texas Conference should be intentional to train all persons who have contact and leadership with children and youth regarding their Safe Sanctuary policy. One way to ensure your church is faithful to your policy is to send several persons to training every three years to be refreshed and take a new look at the local church policy and procedures. The next training will be held at Salado UMC on Aug. 18. Click here for more details. As a reminder, each local church in the Central Texas Conference must have an established Safe Sanctuary Abuse Prevention Policy in place in an easily-accessible location within the church, available for review by district or conference personnel if requested.
