CTA Matching Funds Grant

CTA Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the coordinator according to USTA Texas guidelines
  • Establish goals with the support of the local USTA Texas Field Staff
  • Establish a working one year contract with the coordinator
  • Provide a semi-annual and annual review
  • Assure this position solely works on grassroots development of new/returning Hispanic individuals and not competitive tournaments or adult leagues.
  • Provide USTA Texas the contacts acquired through festivals, events, and tournaments.

USTA Texas Responsibilities

  • Provide training for the new coordinator
  • Work with the CTA to develop the goals of the new coordinator
  • Develop curriculum for any new programs/events that will occur
  • Assist with local partnerships and opportunities
  • Mentor this person through our USTA Texas Field Staff
  • Be part of the hiring process and final decision maker on the person hired.

Hispanic Outreach Coordinator

Job Description

To promote and develop the growth of tennis within the Hispanic community

Responsibilities - All activities listed below are to be conducted in areas of dense Hispanic population

Youth Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain our player “source” programs such as Schools Program and Kids’ Tennis Clubs
  • Connect and grow youth pathway programs/initiatives
  • Train local Hispanic pros, coaches, service org staff, and parents to promote, coach and manage local pathway
  • Attend/participate in school field days, local festivals, sporting/music/family events

Adult Responsibilities

  • Through youth programs listed above, create follow-up family outings/events at local schools, recreation centers, tennis facilities
  • Attend/participate in local festivals, sporting/music/cultural/family events
  • Connect and grow the adult pathway programs/initiatives –social tennis, leagues, tournaments
  • Utilize USTA Texas adult program guides, such as Ready Set Rally, to help ensure a successful first experience

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Administrative: Data base building, reporting, initiate prospective phone calls, follow-up/return client phone calls, conference calls, webinars and trainings as required
  • Develop a detailed list of successful and unsuccessful tactics to further our understanding for program development in other areas

Travel Requirements

  • Significant travel only within designated geographic territory
  • Local, Sectional and National meetings and workshops as needed and assigned

Qualifications

  • Hispanic heritage
  • Fluent in conversational and business Spanish
  • Strong Tennis Playing Background
  • Highly skilled adult and youth tennis program instructor/coordinator
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Enthusiastic personality with desire to promote and grow tennis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to meet travel demands and work occasional weekends
