(b)  SUPPLY OF CANAL WATER

Canal water supply during April, 2015 decreased by 16.1% as compared to April, 2014.

CROP CONDITIONS

COTTON

The sowing of the cotton crop remained in full swing during the fortnight. About 30% sowing has been completed. The germination/growth is reported satisfactory. The growers are busy in preparing the land/bed for sowing of cotton crop.

SUGARCANE

The sowing of sugarcane crop has been completed. The germination/growth is reported satisfactory. Weather is favorable for crop so far.

RICE

Transplantation of rice nursery has not been started so far. However, raising of Rice nursery of Irri. Coarse varieties have started.

MAIZE (SPRING)

The sowing of the crop has been completed. The growth and stand of the crop is reported/observed satisfactory. The crop is on cob formation and maturity stage.

MOONG

The sowing of the crop remained in progress during the fortnight. The germination of crop is reported satisfactory.

MASH

The sowing of Mash crop has just started.

WHEAT

The harvesting of wheat crop has been completed and threshing of crop has also been near to its completion. The excessive rains with wind & hail storm affected the average yield/acre in irrigated area. The harvest price of crop prevailed from Rs. 1150 to Rs.1250/mds. The procurement of crop at food centers also in full swing.

GRAM

The threshing of Gram crop has been completed. Heavy rains accompanied with hailstorm during the months of March and April affected the crop badly. Therefore, the objective production remained less the expected production.
