Title: BRIDGE Math Teacher
Location: Cristo Rey Jesuit High School
Description: Teach basic math to incoming 9th grade students in our high school readiness summer program. Basic math topics include integers, fractions, basic probability, area, etc.
Reports To: Dean of 9th Grade Student Achievement

July 9th – July 26th
Monday - Thursday
7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Compensation: $25/hour
Organization Summary:
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (CRJHS) is a rapidly growing high school located in the Phillips neighborhood of south Minneapolis. Our mission is to serve and educate under-resourced students and families in the Jesuit tradition as a Catholic, College and Career Preparatory School. CRJHS serves 500 students with 65 employees and a budget of approximately $6.5 million.
CRJHS is part of an expanding national Cristo Rey Network where each student works one day per week in an entry-level corporate job to develop technical and professional skills while earning half the cost of their education. There are currently 32 similar high schools across the country, with additions each year. Collectively, the Network serves over 11,000 students in high school, with over 11,000 graduates in college. The Network goal is for 70% of graduates to achieve a college degree within six years of high school graduation.
Position Responsibilities:
• Deliver curriculum materials prepared by Cristo Rey Jesuit High School teachers
• Contribute to a positive and academically engaged classroom environment based on respectful, supportive, and professional interpersonal relationships
• Manage and flexibly organize groups of students with individualized academic goals and standards
• Differentiate instructional support to assist students in meeting standards
• Assess standards in assigned appropriate content area
• Grade assessments as needed in keeping with standards-based curriculum and philosophy
• Maintain accurate records for grade-keeping and attendance
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean
Qualifications:
· Preferred:
-Licensed in state of Minnesota to teach
-Prior successful high school teaching experience
· Required:
-Be competent in designing and implementing curricula to serve a heterogeneous student population diverse in culture, religion and ability.
-Experience with teaching students in need of significant academic support in reading and writing.
-Be a competent team player and have the ability to collaborate with his or her peers in a standards based promotion academic environment.
-Candidates must complete Virtus training, sign a Code of Conduct and pass a background check.
