Creating your WriteAway Learning Support Services Page

Last Updated: July 2015

A Learning Support Services (LSS) page for each institution can be found in the eTutoring platform in Resources > Student Writing Resources > Institutional Learning Support Services (you can view the other institutional examples there).

What are these pages for?

If a tutor finds that the student they are working with needs assistance outside the scope of WriteAway (career assistance for example), the tutor can point the student to a resource page to access additional help at their institution. Note: the tutor won't necessarily know which institution the student is from but can instruct them to look up their own page - there is a script for tutors to do so here:

What goes on this page?

A template of suggested links is on page 3 of this document.

How to create a LSS page?

Log in to the etutoring platform with your administrative login (etutoringcanada.ca)

Go to Resources > Student Writing Resources > Institutional Learning Support Services, and choose "Add a Resource".

Paste or type your list of resources in the text box - URLs can be hyperlinked,

At the bottom of the screen for "Type of Resource" choose: Student Content and "Consortial Selection" choose:British Columbia eTutoring.

Lastly click on “Save this Resource”

Note:

Only the account that creates the page can edit the page. The WriteAway Admin Centre also has the ability to edit the page.
