Creating Management Agent Run Profiles

Even though we now have two Management Agents created and configured, we still cannot use them. To do so, we must first create a series of Run Profiles for each. We will create five Run Profiles on each Management Agent. Even though we must create them for each MA, we will create them essentially the same way.

Begin by opening the Synchronization Engine.

From here, click on a Management Agent to select it (in this case, the Active Directory Management Agent), and then in the top right-hand corner, select “Configure Run Profiles”.

This will open the “Configure Run Profiles” menu. Select “New Profile…”

Give it a name. Here, we are calling this one “FI” (short for Full Import). You may find it helpful to abbreviate names as it simplifies the process of writing scripts to automate the run profiles. Click “Next” to continue.

Next, we must configure the work being done. In the drop-down menu next to “Type:”, select the desired step, then click “Next”

In the drop-down menu next to “Partition:”, select the partition we wish this Management Agent to manage. The fields under “Custom Data” may be left default. Click “Finish” to complete.

Repeat these steps for the remaining four Run Profiles:

Full Synchronization (FS)

Delta Import (DI)

Delta Synchronization (DS)

Export (EX)

When complete, you should have something that looks like this:

If so, click “Apply” to finish.
