What is NH Freedom Cup? NHFC provides red tape free short term financial support to active military, their families and veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. These men and women have sacrificed mightily for our country. Your contributions help them when they most need it. Everything we do is done by volunteers so our overhead is almost non-existent. We do, however need to pay for things such as postage for mailings, golf course rental, etc. Otherwise, every cent of net funds we raise goes directly to support our veterans. The annual golf tournament the one major fundraiser, but contributions can always be made.

HOW DID THIS START?

NH Freedom Cup was founded by Len Ouellette in memory of his son, Michael who was killed in Afghanistan in March of 2009 while serving his country as a Marine. Michael remains a striking example of all that is good in us. His memory lives on in his squad mates who survived because of him. And in our collective effort to help -- in some small way -- all those who served and are struggling to come home. Len also recently died but this worth organization continues through the efforts of many volunteers.

Why do you only support OIF/OEF veterans and not veterans of other wars such as Desert Storm?

The purpose of NH Freedom Cup is to provide financial support for active duty military and their families plus OIF/OEF veterans who are experiencing hardship as a result of their service. NH Freedom Cup was established in memory of Mike Ouellette, who gave his life for his country in Afghanistan. He also served two tours of duty in Iraq. Unfortunately, multiple deployments are common in today's military. This puts a lot of pressure on the men and women in the military -- and their families and creates a fair amount of post deployment problems for veterans and their families. We honor and respect veterans of every era -- in fact our planning committee is made up of veterans from many different eras. Our focus today is OIF/OEF era military and veterans. As we and our funding grow we hope to be able to expand the veteran communities we service.
