CPHS Boys Booster Club Minutes

10/13/09

The meeting was held on October 13that 7:00pm at The Forum.

The general board meeting began at 7:00pm. Those in attendance were: Terri Bickford(President),Toni Duberry(Secretary), George Borrell (Vice President), Rhonda VanTuyl(Vice President), Lori Nelson (Treasurer), Marcey Potter and Pat Janostin.

Board members not present: none.

Items Discussed:

1)Captain’s practice – Mark Swan will be putting together a parent supervisory schedule for captain’s practice. Sessions will be divided into 2 groups once all have registered.

2)Fall Clinic–There are currently 60+ kids attending.

3)Moorhead trip – Reiterated - the trip is 11/20/09and the bus has been booked thru Richfield Bus Company. The team will be staying at the AmericInn in Moorhead. George has a draft schedule of the day’s events and will be coordinating meals. Players will need to bring money for 1-2 meals. Parents will be provided a list of hotels but no arrangements will be made for parents. The bus will leave the rink on 11/20/09 at 10:00am and there will be a team meal on the way up there. Rhonda is checking with Jimmy Johns to see if they will donate the team meal.

4)Equipment/Team wear –The jackets are in at Champlin Athletic. Exact sizing will be done during the week of tryouts.

5)Skate with the Rebels – Reiterated - has been set for 1/23/10during open skate (6:30-8:00pm) at the Forum. The team will give out team posters and have an autograph session. A volunteer is needed to take over the coordination on that day.

6)Programs (Marcey Potter) – Artist Cove is going to do the layout of the program for free and will receive a full page ad in the program. Marcey is still working on getting the print work for free. David Banks will be taking the skate-up photos of the seniors, the individual skater photos of the team, the team picture and the banner photo which hangs in the arena for free. Thesenior skate-up pictures that are used for senior night will be printed elsewhere such as Costco which is more cost effective.

7)Skate with the Mites – Scheduled for 1/1/10. Time to be determined.

8)Alumni Game – Will follow the Skate with the Mites on 1/1/10. All past players of Champlin Park Hockey are invited to play.

9)Team Meals – There will be 4 team meals and a schedule will be determined as the season gets closer. Rhonda Van Tuyl is coordinating.

10)Gift wrapping – will be held with the girl’s team on 12/11/09.

11)Financials – These were reviewed and adjustments were made for anticipated expenses.

12)Other discussion – Relationship and history between the City (Rink) and CPYHA and issue of ice time availability and cost were discussed with no action item.

Fundraising:

1)Pancake Breakfast – We raised $920 net.The food was donated by Mark Swan and Mary McDonald’s father from Perkins. Trent and Linda Johnson donated the butter. Thanks to all who supported the fundraiser.

2)Spaghetti Dinner – has been approved to hold at the Legion. A date will be determined as we get closer to the season.

3)Wine Tasting – The date has been rescheduled for December 18, 6-9pm and each player/family will be asked to purchase 4 tickets at $15 each. This will be collected at the parent/player/coach meeting on Nov. 24.

Minutes from the 9/10/09 were approved.
