Courtney Brooke Rosas

Just how far will the friends of little Courtney Rosas go to help her?

“The sky’s the limit”

Ever wanted to skydive but been putting it off?

Here’s an opportunity for you to fulfill your dream, while also helping a little girl and her family fulfill their dream of a new wheelchair accessible bedroom and bathroom for their little princess.

Courtney Rosas has defied the odds by outliving the grim prognosis doctors gave for her life expectancy. Courtney has the terminal illness Spinal Muscular Atrophy in its most severe form, type 1. Courtney’s mother and grandmother were told by doctors not to expect Courtney to live to celebrate her second birthday and because of the severity of her symptoms that she would most likely not even survive to be one year old. One doctor even went so far as to tell Courtney’s mother that she should just take baby Courtney home, love her and to let her go.

Since then, Courtney has had many illnesses and hospitalizations but the little girl with the fiery red hair continues to fight against the deadly disease and beat the odds. Courtney can not sit, stand, walk, talk, swallow or even breathe on her own and requires a ventilator to breathe for her. Courtney requires around the clock care given by her grandmother Linda Rosas and her mother Candace Rosas.

Courtney just this past April celebrated her fifth miracle birthday with a large ballroom celebration in Pasadena, which was also a fundraiser to help the family with the cost of remodeling the garage in her grandparent’s home into a wheelchair accessible bedroom and bathroom with an overhead hoist system to transport Courtney to the bathroom. The system is being installed by Mobility Headquarters, Inc. Bruce Monroe, General Manager, heard about Courtney and went out to her home to see what his company could do to help make transporting Courtney easier. Courtney is growing and now her weight and length are making it difficult and dangerous for her mother to lift her safely.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of many, by supporting Courtney in fundraising efforts and volunteering, the work began in May. Mattress Mack from Gallery Furnitureheard about Courtney through Raymond Ramirez from Fox News 26, and has joined the caring for Courtney team by setting up an account at Gallery Furniture to accept donations for items the family will purchase from the store for Courtney’s new wheelchair accessible room. Mattress Mack has generously agreed to match all donations made to Courtney’s account in the month of June. If you would like to help Courtney by donating to her Gallery Furniture account you may do so by calling in your donation with your credit card, mailing a check or visiting the store in person to make a donation. The account information is as follows:
