Weight Training has been designed to enhance the physical well being of students with a beginning to advanced level of training. The program promotes a training principle based upon Undulating Periodization. All Students will be expected to learn and perform all lifts in a safe and efficient manner. All students will be involved with high level of Olympic lifts as well as auxiliary lifts and will be evaluated on their proficiency of these lifts. Students may also be called upon to perform peer evaluations within the weightroom environment. The students will be expected to improve on max tests each six weeks of the semester.

REASONS FOR DRESS : SAFETY, FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT, ABILITY TO MASTER THE AKS, HYGIENE
ABSENCES :
- ONLY a doctor’s note excuses a student from having to dress out for class. Make-up work for these days is required. IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO TALK WITH HIS/HER TEACHER ABOUT ARRANGING A TIME TO OBTAIN/COMPLETE MAKE-UP WORK.
- MAKE UP WORK IS DUE 5 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE ABSENCE.
- EXTENDED MEDICAL EXCUSES : Any student with an extended medical excuse from a doctor (more than 10days) will be evaluated. The teachers will determine the appropriate means for making up physical activity during the illness or injury, and the recovery process..
- Students must respect school equipment and follow school rules and policies.
Students will be lifting weights 4 days per week and run/stretch one day per week. Please prepare for the class by eating a healthy breakfast, drinking plenty of water, and wearing appropriate clothing to class.
- Fitnessgram Testing – state required fitness test. Parents and students will receive a report at the end of the semester
- Running – One day per week students will work on aerobic capacity or agilities and flexibility
- Weightroom – Perform Olympic lifts and auxiliary lifts.
