Course Description:
This course is designed to provide students database application and design skills through the use of Microsoft Access database software. This course emphasizes the concepts to plan, create, and revise a database system by introducing and working with objects of MS Access, and provides the student the tools to effectively utilize those objects within various environments.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will have demonstrated:
- Creating and Editing Access Tables.
- Creating and Editing Access Forms.
- Creating and Editing Access Reports.
- Creating and Editing Access Queries.
- Creating and Comprehending Relationships Within Tables.
- Creating and Utilizing Customized Objects.
- Integrating All Of The Above In Varied Contexts.
Learning Procedure:
- Engage, in which a student's interest is captured and the topic is established.
- Explore, in which the student is allowed to construct knowledge in the topic through facilitated questioning and observation.
- Explain, in which students are asked to explain what they have discovered, and the instructor leads a discussion of the topic to refine the students' understanding.
- Extend, in which students are asked to apply what they have learned in different but similar situations, and the instructor guides the students toward the next discussion topic.
5. Evaluate, in which the instructor observes each student's knowledge and understanding, and leads students to assess whether what they have learned is true.
