Today’s Lesson Plan / We journaled over our character integration for the week. Then we went over the correct answers to the Selection Test for “lesson of the moth/Identity”. We learned about extended metaphor and read “O Captain, My Captain” and “I Saw Old General At Bay” on p. 752-757. Then we answered questions 1, 2, 3, 4 (on a worksheet chart), 5, and 6 on p. 757.

Today’s Lesson Plan / We were assigned groups and group roles to study narrative poetry and take notes over ballad and epic. The groups read “Boots of Spanish Leather” and “The Song of Hiawatha,” (p. 656-665) discussed the questions in the margins and filled out a Question Support and Reading Strategy worksheet together (main ideas and details). If all groups displayed self-discipline, self-teaching and analysis skills, on-task behavior, and informal signs of learning, then I agreed to NOT assign homework. See below if your class has homework or not.
