The Wyndmere City Council held their regular meeting on March5, 2018.
Council Members present: Mayor Brandt, Phalen, Hetland, Volesky, Bell
Olmsted, City Superintendent, Anderson, Auditor; CommunityMembers: Don and Kathy Fluto, Seth Springer
The meeting was called to order at 6:59 PM.
Approval of Minutes – Motion made by Bell, second by Volesky. MC Motion to approve the Special Meeting by Volesky, second by Bell. MC
Approval of Bills – Motion made by Hetland, second byPhalen. MC
Auditor Report–Overdue water bills were discussed. Hetland motioned to accept the financial report, Bell second. MC
Superintendent Report – Teen center is finished, International plow truck needs an engine, Ford plow truck lights on truck are working good for now, a breaker was replaced in the south pump station,checking sewer lines by David Schmit’sas his sewer was backing up, will have Jetway come, will get 2 more bids on snow blower attachment.
Old Business- Building Abatement – Motion by Hetland to accept the bid from SRT Excavation LLC for removal and properly handle the disposal of hazardous materials of the Old Creamery at 401 Ash Avenue for a total price not to exceed $26,500, second by Volesky. MC
New Business– Motion by Hetland to approve the Local Permit for Make a Wish Foundation, second Bell. MC Seth Springer discussed Ordinance No. 104 (Establishing Connection Fee for Initial Hook-up to the City Sanitary Sewer System) and Ordinance No. 105 (Establishing Additional Sewer connection surcharge Fee) The sewer system had to be paid for at a time when the city had lower income, no sales tax, and assessments had not been completed. At the time of initiation, it was discussed that the Ordinances would be re-visited and updated as time went on. It will be discussed further next meeting.
Other Business –Phone call from Barry Johnson, Bolton & Menkthe NDSTREETS Grant project was submitted. The Storm and Street Project – Phase 1 was discussed. A Special Meeting will be held March 15, at 7 PM to discuss this project further.
Bell made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 PM, seconded by Hetland. MC
