Please refer to the Teaching Recognition Program Guidelines for more information regarding materials to be included in each of the following sections of the application.
Required Materials:All applications must include an application cover sheet, a
(Required, up to 5 pages)one to two page description of teaching activities, and a one to two page applicant statement
Primary Documentation:Suggested materials for inclusion as primary documentation (Required, up to 10 pages) section include: peer reviews of teaching, student evaluations,
unsolicited student comments/letters, and a description of the applicant’s role in curriculum development activities. All materials submitted as primary documentation must be from academic years 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
Optional Documentation:Optional documentation includes course materials developed
(Optional, up to 10 pages)by the applicant, any materials from academic years 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, student work, information regarding one-to-one teaching and mentoring, and any other materials related to the applicant’s teaching activities.
Confidential Letters:Applicants may ask up to two people to submit confidential (Optional, up to 2) letters assessing the overall quality of the applicant’s teaching
activities. These letters are not intended to be reviews of an individual class session (these would be primary documentation, please see above).

TRP Application 2017-2018
Important Information for TRP Applicants
Number of Awards:Up to twenty (14)
Amount of Award:$1500 permanent increment to annual base salary (or a percentage thereof if partial appointment) beginning in Academic Year 2018-2019.
Eligibility:All tenured and tenure-track faculty, clinical faculty, and others who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to teaching at UIC. Applicants must hold teaching appointments greater than 49 percent and have been the primary instructor for at least 2 courses each year for at least the past three (3) years at UIC to be eligible for an award.
Program Period:Applicants must document their teaching activities for academic years 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.Applicants may, at their option, include materials from academic years 2012-2013and 2013-2014as part of the optional documentation section.
Deadline:11:59 P.M. on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Length of Application:Applications may not exceed twenty-five (25) pages and two confidential letters
Number of Copies:A single pdf version of the application should be sent to the TLC at idates should also arrange to have pdfs of confidential letters sent to the same email address. Please have the letters sent with the subject “TRP: letter of support for” followed by the name of the applicant.
