COULD YOUR STREET BE THE MOST PATRIOTIC IN HALTON HILLS?
Community-focused challenge is calling for residents of Halton Hills to show their national pride for Canada’s 150th birthday by becoming the most patriotic street!
HALTON HILLS, ON – (June 2017) Residents have been taking to the exciting community-wide challenge in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday by waving and planting Canadian flags across the community. This challenge has been spearheaded by Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce and they are now asking residents to see if they can be the Most Patriotic Street in Halton Hills!
Imagine getting your street together for a Canada Day party and all proudly flying the Canadian flag. You can become a Most Patriotic Town Challenge ambassador for your street by purchasing our Canadian Garden Flags for as little as $2 per flag and then handing them out to your friends and neighbours. The only ask from the committee is that you ensure the flags are registered on the website, haltonhillscanada150.ca and are proudly flying on Canada Day so that they are included in the official count.
There are currently over 4,000 flags registered on the challenge website, with momentum growing as we move into June.
“It is exciting to see this challenge gathering momentum. We have to thank all of the residents of Halton Hills who have taken to this challenge with such enthusiasm and excitement. They have really helped to spread the challenge far and wide all over Halton Hills” says Laurent Thibault of the Halton Hills Cultural Roundtable and the 3 things for Halton Hills ambassador.
We would also love to see how individual streets are taking to the challenge and are encouraging residents to share photos of their flag displays on Instagram. Be sure to tag @haltonhillschamber so we can see all your displays!
Garden Flags can be picked up from various locations around Georgetown and Acton including, Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce, Public Libraries, Town Hall, Gellert Centre, Moldmasters Sportsplex, Georgetown Farmers’ Market, Acton Sportsplex and Downtown Acton BIA.
